Motorola Moto E (2020) switch to 64 bit O/S

In order to install DJI Fly app, who knows how to change a Motorola Moto e 4G LTE Prepaid Smartphone (Locked) from 32 bit to 64 bit O/S?

That is not possible in my opinion.

First, that device, when provider locked, is a $50 device.

Second, it is sometimes even a free phone for those caught up in the end of 3G debacle.

Third, being what it is, changing the OS at all is probably not an option.
The device is old, has a weak chipset, and if there are no developers working on rooting it then it's not going to happen.

Fourth, I do not even think that it is possible to change the architecture of a device like that, regardles if it is rooted or not.

I have the unlocked version of this device, and my ol'lady has the carrier locked version.
My experience with these devices shows me that it is what it is.

The Moto Stylus is a phone with the architecture you desire.

In the end, why not just get the app developers to make an arm7 version of the app?
In fact, most apps have multiple versions available.

As I learned from DJI support before, none of their existing version can be installed into 32 bit O/S phone.

The version you suggested, it is "Architecture in arm64-v8a". So, failed installation again.

I used the appstore, and it used to not allow downloading if the app was the wrong arm.

So I pasted the link thinking it was correct.

My bad on that, and I will be more careful in the future.

I did some checking, and it appears that there are no arm7 versions of that app.

If the devs are so lazy, then I would suggest using a different app.

That is, unless you want to purchase another device just to be able to run that app.

This seems a bit off, both on the part of Motorola and DJI. Motorola(Lenovo) making new phones that still only have 32-bit Android, even though they are 64-bit capable. And DJI for making their app in 64-bit only, so you you can't fly their drones using older yet still capable devices, and also been unable to use certain Moto phones.

If it's a DJI product, probably can't use it without the correct specific app from DJI. Last year I borrowed a DJI Osmo gimbal, and that could NOT be used without the specific supporting DJI app been installed and running.

That's the problem with some of these tech products, their proprietary supporting apps may go away for whatever reasons, and the drone, gimbal, smart-watch, etc, becomes completely useless, and is only good for recycling.

Better off sticking to things that use a dedicated or universal contoller, or at minimum one that could be controlled by a universal app.
