Dropped my Samsung Galaxy A51 5G in the sink under running water for a second. The phone speaker works but only for call audio now – media and notifications are completely silent. Bluetooth i off and nothing is plugged in of course, but I can still hear out the bottom speaker normally for the ringer and calling audio, just not media and notifications. I've tried turning my phone off for at least 30 seconds and back on 5 times with no change. Starting in safe mode did nothing too. Everything works normally through headphones, though.

Any way to fix this? Thanks in advance

EDIT: I didn't do anything different, but after a few minutes it suddenly worked. I think it's worth leaving this post up to see what people think for future advice

should have waited for the water to dry before doing anything to the phone. your phone is not water resistant. you should have put the phone in a bag filled with rice and let sit there for as long as possible. the minute you use it when there is still water could ruin the phone.

so your choices is to either get it fixed, which could be expensive to do, you could learn to deal with it, or you can get a new phone.

this is not a software issue. so no matter how much you tinker with the phone's software, you will still the same issue.

A little abrasive way of giving advice, but you're right, and that info is worth remembering and leaving up on the forum I think, so thanks for that.

sorry my intent was not to be abrasive.

but at this point, the damage has been done to your hardware so that your external speakers are now broke unless you fix it or replace the phone.....or....you can just not use the external speakers. everything else works, yes? i rarely use my external speakers.
