Got my Droid today... any questions?

I being asking and posting this question and never got an answer what size of the video will i have to convert to be watch full screen movie on the droid. I know that the droid support MPG 4 and H.264. Can you test any try to find what it isthanks.

The screen is 16:9 so it should be easy to convert movies. Most programs you will just set the first number to 480 and leave the second to default.

I use handbrake it's free and works well, just choose the iphone setting.

....I'm speechless.

Seriously? Impressions, Pros, cons. Details please!! :)

Well, I was kind of upset at first of the weight of it... but I am finding open and closed it has an AWESOME center of balance. Like... really good. One of my gripes about the Pre and the HTC Hero were the unbalanced feel to them. This is done just right...

Screen is absolutely amazing. Makes the iPhone look childish... (I have an iPhone, a Pre, HTC Hero, Palm Treo Pro among my stash over here). It has the best one hands down.

Speed is blowing me away, but it's also a virgin fone, once I get to the market with it, that might be a different story, but Eclair's transitions are really cool.

Any idea why some Wal-Marts are and Some Wal-Mats are not releasing them today?

No clue, but the guy was cool and said, this just came in like an hour ago.

Is the keyboard as bad as some say it is? And do the video reviews do the screen any justice?

Well, the keyboard is better than the Samsung Moment's for sure. It has a layout that is fairly quick on the learning curve. I am not so sure if I like the flatness just yet, but I haven't made mistakes on it terribly...

ohhhh congrats! :D

How good is the internal facebook app :)

This is what blows me away the most! Eclair's facebook app is awesome... makes the Marketplace one look like a joke (I've been use m.facebook.com just because the Marketplace one sucks so bad).

The best part yet.... and I can't even kid... DROID!!!!!! The sound is just killer. OOPS, it just did it again, god I love that!

Just tried a few of my iPhone formatted movies from Handbrake... like mentioned above, they work perfectly... Wolverine Origins looks amazing on this sucker. It's a shame that movie stunk ;)

1. Have you tried any of the downloadable camera programs to see if they work better than the built in program?

The built in one isn't awful, not the best... and no, I just got it 40 minutes ago but I am about to tear up the Marketplace in a bit (most importantly, Robo Defense, I mean, come on... right?)

2. Is there lag when moving between home screens as some reviews have said? Lag anywhere else?

Lag... not so much, but again, it's a Virgin unit... no widgets on there except for Search came out of the box on this... I am gonna try to add some stuff and see what goes down.

3. Keyboard evaluation. Good enough to get used to?

I just responded to someone in Gtalk and I messed up one character (sent a nice long reply, correcting it was simple, tap on the location and hit delete, I could def get used to that).

Pics pics pics!

Sure... of what? The phone? Next to something? From the phones camera itself? You tell me... Personally, I think it's been all over the webz, so I don't see what you'd want more ;)

BOOOOO-yah... there is goes again, DROID!

You finally moved over from the PPC side? ;) welcome!

Been on webOS since June, then I got to know Android about a month ago... :)

Don't know if you have used the facebook app on the iphone, but if you have, how does it compare to the one on the droid?

I have used it. The iPhone version is just the motherload... which is weird that no one else has just duplicated it exactly for their OS, but I say this iteration is a close second. When I go to my notification, and I click on one, it actually opens m.facebook.com version of the page to show you the comments. I don't know how in love I am with that yet.

That kinda sucks, well at least it is better than the crappy one that android currently has.

And these are from the Droid themselves... I found that the HTC Hero lets in a lot more light (I suppose to make up for the lack of LED flash). So it's a very dark screen when I was taking the picture with the Droid.

How does the screen size seem. Is it big enough or will you have buyers remorse when a 4.3 inch screen like the HD2 comes out.

The screen seems thinner than the iphone. Does that bother you?

At some point, you gotta say the phone is too big, but that HD2 with capacitive screen and Snapdragon is def worth watching, I wonder what carrier will get that sucker. The Droid's size is really good actually... And with the webbrowsers ability to snap text to viewing size, it's not an issue at all. Android has the best webkit implementation imo for readability.

Are the keys really that small or do you have an giant thumb? :)

Indeed, giant thumbs here. Keyboard typing isn't hard at all.
