Facebook Events sync to calendar?

On my blackberry the facebook app would push fb events to my phones calendar. Anyway to do this on the incredible?

I couldn't find any. Do you have a google account? This is how I solved it on mine:
  1. Go to FB, click Events on the left, click "Export Events" on the bottom. Copy the link it gives you.
  2. Go to your Google calendar, on the left under "Other calendars" click "Add", and select "Add by URL".
  3. Paste the link from FB and click the "Add to calendar" buttom
  4. You'll see your newly added calendar on the left, hit the dropdown arrow, and click "Calendar settings".
  5. Rename the calendar to "Facebook" or whatever you want and click the
    "save" button
  6. Click the dropdown next to the Facebook calendar again, and select a color you like (I use blue).
  7. That's it! Google will stay in sync with Facebook, and your phone will stay in sync with Google. It all happens virtually instantly - even better than the BB!

If you don't have a google account, it's probably worth it to set one up for this exact purpose. It's free...

Good luck!

I just wanted to updated this thread and let everyone know that it appears to be impossible to delete particular facebook events from your Google calendar. This is particularly annoying when people invite you to those really long (month(s)) events that aren't really "events". You can delete them from facebook, which I'd imagine removes them from the calendar it's pushing to Google, but if you want to keep an event on facebook but remove it from your calendar, it appears to be impossible. Just letting everyone know - I'm considering removing the relationship for that reason.

Yeah, you can't delete manipulate the events of any Google calendar if said calendar is fed through a URL or an ICS file unless you edit the source file. That's normal behavior.

jryan: That worked great. Thanks! However, I think there is a bug with private events. On Google Calendar, they show up as 'busy' rather than the event name. Anyone else?

Oh...so thats what that is..

I had some showing up as "Busy" but didnt put two and two together that they are private events. Will have to see what comes up next time I have a private one.

How could I go about editing the source file?

I have one of those irritating year long events on my calendar. I've deleted the event from my Facebook account and everything but it did nothing.

For anyone Interested, I found the solution to this.. Settings>applications>manage applications>Calendar storage> clear storage. Then resync with facebook. Cheers!

I'd be careful about doing that. Because, although it solves your fb problems...it deletes all of your 'my calendar events'.

Meaning all of the events you put in manually are deleted! It's a pain.

Just make sure you put all of those events into your google calendar or something before you clear your storage.

I'd like to recommend a simple and small app which solve all my Facebook/Google calendar syncing problems, such as:
1. Private events shown as "Busy".
2. Time zone cannot be changed.
3. Specific event cannot be removed.
4. Past events disappear.

This app is called "Events on Facebook". How it works? It just basically shows all Facebook events which you are attending. Then on each event you can select to sync with your Google calendar. The good part is after the event shows up in your Google calendar, this event is editable. So you can change the time zone as you wish, or delete easily any specific event, especially those long events. And the past events will stay in your calendar as record. I'll have to say it works like a charm and I have no problem with it so far!

The direct link please refer to the post below. I hope this app can help whoever has the same problems as I did in the past!
