Help Techincal Question: Facebook integration for contacts?

Afternoon,
I just jumped ship from Apple and AT&T and I'm loving the new phone! Most qalms have been easily fixed, and most things seem like common sense, but I am having trouble with my facebook integration.

I personally don't want all my facebook contacts on my phone, I would like to be able to choose which ones I sync and which ones I don't, any way to do this? It seems a all or nothing type ordeal.

Any help/insight would be appreciaited.

I can't completely help as I'm having some issues here too, but....

If you go to People->Menu->View and you make sure "Facebook for HTC Sense" is unchecked it won't show all your facebook contacts. It will however still have loaded in the facebook pics and info for the people in your other contacts that it was able to automatically merge.

I'm still fighting with what are the differences between the first 3 options, "Google" "Show auto Gmail contacts" and "Phone". I have some people in all 3 and they should have all been synced from my Gmail account.

I have the "facebook for HTC Sense" unchecked but did so after the contacts were already sync'd. How do you removed them after the fact? When I go to "Phone" the first screen that pops up has my 800+ contacts listed there, then if I go to "People" it changes to just my personal contacts. I'd like to remove most of the FB contacts as they are mostly "Mafia Wars" friends.

In "people" select the contact, then on the top right there is a "link" button. You should be able to click fb from there.

This is what I have come up with..
1 Go to settings then to Accounts and snyc and remove your account for Facebook for Htc Sense
2 Then unselect Auto-sync
3 Add your Facebook for HTC Sense Account
4 Enable Auto-sync then immediately go back into your Facebook for Htc Sense Account and unselect sync contacts

Should be good to go after that. But what I notice is that people in my contacts that had facebook wasnt link anymore. I was fine with that....But a few hours later they were linked. I think that was due to it syncing every 2 hours.

You may also want to go into your contacts view and unselect the facebook for Htc Sense

For the Calendar go to the menu then more. Unselect Facebook. This will not link any facebook friends to your Calendar...Hopefully a update down the road will fix that.
