Wiping before Nandroid backup?

I am finaly getting somewhat comfortable with flashing and nandroid backup/restores.

I forgot to wipe before restoring a nandroid (DC2.08.1) last night, and subsequently have made some changes. Everything seems to be working OK. I will make a new Nandroid backup.

Is there any benefit to then wiping and restoring that new nandroid backup? Or will the backup just re-install what I have just wiped? Sorry, I don't understand what exactly is being wiped.

Maybe others will benefit from an explaination as well.

Thanks!

You shouldn't need to re-flash. If all is working well you should be good to go. Truthfully, you shouldn't have to wipe when restoring a backup. I don't believe I have ever done it (although my mind is a little fuzzy today). The only time you need to wipe is typically when going from one ROM to a different one (Say for DC to Fresh or from Fresh 1.5 to Fresh 2.1.2). Restoring nandroid backups is like running system restore (if you want to think of it in computer terms). It will put your phone back to the state it was in at the time you created the backup.
