I have noticed that my phone gets warm whenever I am on a phone call -- this applies whether it up to my ear or using the bluetooth. It is not super hot (maybe 39C) but it does make it a little uncomfortable to hold against my ear, face or just hand.

Am I the only one? Any idea about the cause?

ETA it does not get nearly this warm when I am using the data, surfing the web, etc.

No it is not my first smart phone, but I have only had any smart phone for less than a month. My first one was a Samsung Moment which had overheating issues in general so on that one I just assumed it was part of that problem. Thanks for the information. I won't worry about now that I know it is normal. It stays nice and cool otherwise at least, unlike my Moment.

This can't be a good thing even though we all know it happens. :)
My G1 turned into a fiery brick after using it for a few minutes.

It's a good thing trust me...

Electrons moving fast around a nucleus creating friction makes electricity, and friction creates heat...

If they didn't get hot, you wouldnt be doing anything on a phone.
