I pre-ordered the Evo from my local RS and got it on launch day. Now I am 2 weeks of owning it but need a replacement due to screen seperation, light leakage as well as bad earphone. Now, RS has problems stocking up the Evo units. The manager told me to call Sprint (all their Evos are sold out as well, no??) to check if they can send a replacement unit. Has anyone gotten their phone replaced by RS yet? How do I go on about doing so?

I noticed that RS return for exchange policy lasts up to 30 days... Does that mean, I have to get a replacement unit within that timeframe?

Im in the same boat. I know it sucks. Im waiting patiently to get mine exchanged but my patience is starting to subside.

This is what mine looks like

You should definitely call Sprint and document the fact that you are waiting for a replacement. Even if they can't send one out to you because they are out, they will extend the 30 days for the replacement in the event no replacements are available before the 30 days is up.

I don't know whether this extends to the 30 days cancellation guarantee.

Radio Shack told me that they will extend my 30 days untill I can get mine replaced. Im not to concerned about the Sprint 30 day's cuz. Mine was an upgrade and I have had Sprint for like 3 years now with 3 more lines. I just want a freakin EVO that my Iphone friends wont laugh at.:(

As long as you have taken it to a store within the 30 days, the manager will know you are having a problem and will extend that until you get a new one.

I tried to get an exchange at RS 2 weeks ago, and still havent gotten mine yet. They said they would get extras in last Friday and they didnt. I called sprint, and they said there is nothing they can do, since its still within the 30 days. but, the manager called me in yesterday, and said he found a way to get a replacement. He took the numbers on my receipt, and did a "wireless satisfaction" or "wireless survey". Basically it sends a message right to their corporate, which will allow them to ship a replacement within a few days. So you might want to try that.

I am having the same problem. Wanting to excahnge the phone not return it but exchange for a new one. The RS by me says they wot be getting them in for a while sold out. Can't even sell any to new customers but then the manager tells me that once the shipment comes in he will exchange it. These days things without writting isn't good enough. I don't know what to do. Thinking about just returning it and wait until ALL bugs are out and I can get one without problems.
