i'm not a linux user but i think i could get this damn thing rooted if i could figure out how to start the loop...the 10 min video shows him typing loop.bat and it starts right up. when i type that it doesn't. what exactly do i type in the terminal to start the loop? thanks

when you use the cmd... you need to direct it to the location of your bat file. You can't just type it in and expect cmd to locate it for you. try this

when you open cmd .. run it as administrator.
To do this right click on the cmd file and select run as administrator. The file is located in your Windows - System 32 folder

Save your files to a folder on your desktop and remember the name you chose.
Open cmd ...once you open this ... you "should" be in "documents and settings"
Now, type "Cd desktop" this will take you files located on your desktop.
Now type "cd (the name of the folder you created)"
once you are there... type the name of the bat file

that should work.

did you create a loop.bat file? If not, open up notepad, and enter the following:

@ECHO OFF
:TOP
adb shell
goto TOP

And save the file as loop.bat inside your {android_sdk_directory}\tools

yea this is exactly what i needed, but this morning the link to the youtube video was back up and that tools folder already has the loop file in it. thanks though

it ended up not helping me much though....still no root :(
