For those who don't know Simple Mobile (OMG! Simple Mobile) uses TMobile's towers (including 3g) and got rid of their limits about two weeks ago. So, for $60/month you get everything unlimited. Voice, txt, web. They'll set up the phone for you.

Sooo...here's my deal. Should I root and find a ROM? Or, should I take it to Tmobile's network for a month, wait for the update, and then jump ship. Primary reason I want root is WiFi tether. Can I get it without?

I suppose I could update on Tmobile, then take it and root it, and just not go nuts with a rom, eh? Can't I "line item veto" some apps (cube) after I have root while keeping the majority of the code in tact.

I'm new, but know a decent amount from reading, so I should be able to figure this out and set it up as I'd like, eh?

BTW, I'm cool with only having 1.6. Not an issue.

wait for the update, if you like it, the cool, if not then flash a rom.

The truth is that no one knows how well the 1.6 will work. We all know how well the other roms work

Thanks. I think I'm going to do just that.

BTW, Thank you, EVERYONE, for participating on this board. I did a TON of research before buying this device, and relied heavily on the posts contained here.

So you're probably wondering how I decided on the Behold II then, if I've done my homework, eh?

It's got a really cool world map on the back. ;)
