I'm interested in loading this. I've been using Fresh 2.1.1

Just to confirm,
1. If you are doing a fresh install Flash ZenEXP-0.9.6.2OC Toasted: ROM first and then flash the Update for ZenEXP-0.9.6.2 update?
2. The MMS issue was fixed, but there's still a Sprint VVM issue? The reason I'm asking is because in the XDA post, there's a bugs list for ZenEXP-0.9.5, but there isn't a bugs list for ZenEXP-0.9.6.2.
3. How much free space did you have after a fresh install (before loading Apps)?

1. yes
2. Do the update thru zenupdater to zenupter 2.1, then get the Sprint VVM update and set it up. There are a couple of ways to fix the sms alerts with the VVM
3. I had about 70 MB free with this version of zen

sorry, wasn't trying to act 'the troll.' just saying, in OVERALL speed and usefulness the Fresh ROMS have been way better. i am running the Beta version of Fresh's new ROM and its AWESOME! :) he even got the screen orientation going on all sides (cept top). his stuff is based off Sprint, so its just smoother. i have tried the ZEN for a few days and it wasn't nearly as functional or fast as Fresh. it does look neat though...but i don't care about that. i guess it's all about, 'what do you want your phone to do?' very personal i suppose. ^_^

That's better.

I like zen, because it has been way faster than any fresh rom. I like the "different-ness" of the Zen rom also. I ran Fresh for like 2 and a half months, so a change was needed. I am looking forward to try the latest Fresh when he releases it to the public, though.

How much space did you have before you started loading apps? (if you checked)

i wanna say around 89 (i did check but didn't write it down)... i will say i used to be obsessed with 'space' but have recently not cared. :| i don't run but 20 apps usually aside from small widgets, so it's no thing to me. but yah...i used to look at my space everyday and make sure i was within 125-128. no i realized - it doesn't matter. but who knows? if this rom does well he may deodex it....

I'm about the flash the new Fresh Hero Beta 2.3.2, but I'm definitely making a nandroid backup and will likely be back to Zen. I tried the last Fresh Hero beta (2.3) and didn't like it. Not enough free space and not as fast. Plus gmail sync was broken.


I've never had as good of battery life with another ROM AND my phone is incredibly fast. Best benefit is how fast the calls are made now, it makes stock 2.1 seem embarrassing.

no don't flash that........i am running his beta!!! that one has quite a few problems!! his new release is nearly public. please wait for your own time.

sorry, i didn't fully read...i gave up on the one you were gonna flash because gmail was messed. i can't have that at all. the new beta is running slick. EVERYTHING IS WORKING....otherwise i wouldn't be on here being like, 'yah man it's good.' stuff like that is a deal breaker for me.

I did exactly this, and surprisingly, I had 127MB free with a clean install.
Off to go tweak with my settings and see how it goes. I'll report back in a day!

I love the battery life. After a full day, I was still at 56%. Speed is fine, though coming from Fresh, I can't say I experienced too much slowness to begin with.

Not diggin' the lack of GMail push. I tried setting up the HTC Mail app, but absolutely hated how it handled conversations. Immediately deleted the account. I'll stick with manually refreshing for now. Honestly, if that would get fixed, this would be a GREAT ROM. Can't wait for a fix to be released and I can pick up through the updater =)

Make sure debugging is on under menu\applications
