Help Bugs After Installing 1.47 Upgrade, Post Them Up!!

For some reason, my phone has more lag while typing in websites. There was always a tiny bit, but now it's more noticible? And no turning off sense, or putting up Android Wallpapers.

It also caused problems with unrEVOked for those tinkering with root.

PS - My animated wallpaper - Smoke - it's running way, way faster.

The rest is for rooted users only:

BTW - if anyone's interested - I couldn't get the rooted OTA to work at all, including replacing the /system/bin/root - and I had no intention of using a stock unrooted rom and then stepping back up.

Found this instead:

[ROM] OTA 1.47.651.1 Rooted - De-odex'd version now up.... - xda-developers

From:

XDADeveloperWiki - HTC Evo ROMs

Only widgets I had to replace were LED Light and No Lock.

Have to check if I have to redo NAND access....

Still trying to figure if I need the radio update - beware your WiMAX, from what little I've read.

I just had my wife update her's and my son's phones tonight while on vacation out of state. After reading the bricking issue, I had them hold off a few days.

Before, battery life was average...?

They just ran the update, now the batteries are needing a charge every 45 minutes. I'm not there, and not sure what's going on.

I told her to shut down, remove battery, wait a few minutes and turn them back on.

She is using App Task Killer.

After that, is there anything on by default? Like 4G, WiFi, GPS? She's out in the sticks.. has Sprint 3G signal.

Bleh..

45 minutes? Sounds like an exaggeration but maybe a Hard Reset will help. My battery life feels better but it has always been good. Worth noting I did a hard reset the first day I got the phone

I don't think she was exaggerating.

Mine and my other son's is just fine after update. 3 weeks after owning mine, mine started rebooting on it's own. Made no sense. No issues since update.

My other son's phone had battery performance issues prior. Said he would have to plug in after 45 mins. Since update things are good.

So, we'll see. I'll report back when she calls me back. Will have to walk her through hard reset if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the tip.

Why do I need it on? Before the update I never did. It never came back on unless I rebooted.

Why do you need it off? Ok open the Talk app and then press menu then more then settings and make sure Automatically sign in is not checked. Then Back then Menu then Sign Out. I am pretty sure a Google Talk Service always runs though and killing it does nothing but force it to restart when something needs it. There is Google Talk and Google Talk service. I am pretty sure the service is what Google uses for syncing and gmail and latitude in maps and a few others things much the way Blackberry uses BB messenger for everything.

sometimes when i click a text, it will bring me to an entirely different text message (no its not user error)

I have the same problem.

I also have a problem where if I'm holding one of the sides when I hit the power button to put the phone to sleep, it vibrates, then when I turn it back on the icon where my finger was on the side is selected and it has the "drag item to rearrange or remove" screen up.

The haptic feedback is sometimes faint or nonexistent now whereas previously it was well-defined. On the home screen, is there haptic feedback when you click on an app? I seem to recall that there was prior to the update. Now, the only haptic feedback I get is when I'm typing or when I touch the four buttons at the bottom of the phone.

I keep seeing a "flash" of a really weird screen on mine. It's a white screen with a lime green HTC logo, almost like a boot-up screen. It last for less than a second, then goes back to whatever I was doing. Usually happens after I (taboo-ly) end all programs from ATK widget . It's only happened a few times, but never happened pre-update.

It doesn't seem to have a real effect on my phone at all, just a little strange.

[Please refrain from yelling at me just for using a task killer; I've read the warnings. Just wanted to share my experience.]

It might only be my phone, but I seem to have some sort of responsiveness issue with the touchscreen after the update. Sometimes my phone will not take my finger as input until I power off/on the screen. This never occurred prior to the update, so I have to assume it's not a hardware issue-- but something they tweaked in the software to address grounding problems in some models.

I'm aware that if it's a hardware bug/problem (and not because of the update) I can exchange my phone under warranty, so I'm not worried.

But I hope it's resolved in future updates.

It's restarting Sense because you killed it.

My voicemail widget no longer shows a count and doesn't register most of the voicemails I get - registers some but not others. I depended on this widget and have missed voicemails for a whole day because it didn't show that I had any (I'm a Realtor). I removed it from my home screen and installed it again but it still doesn't seem to work.
