Yes.. But that may be illegal unless and until you pay for that application and download apk file.

Yay! I'm getting mine tomorrow! At a store near my house, in Bank Colony... Rs. 28000 including tax, plus 4% for insurance (optional, but I'm going to take it). Can't wait!!!

AAaaaaahhhh got my samsung galaxy atlast; after a lotta debates though.
Worth it Looks close to an I-Phone, plastic is good enough.
Display is breath taking. a very good battery backup compared to HTC hero and legend.

***Must Download Apps:
ChompSMS - Give a better veiw of the SMS exchanged.
Advanced Task - to kill all the unwanted apss running on the background.
APNdroid - to toggle between your data connections (wifi or edge or 3G)
NetCounter - keeps a track of data count for all the connections.

The samsung galaxy s is now available in samsung mobile store in cochin also. It is 28k.

Hmm.. Called one dealer in Mukherjee Nagar.. He says he will have it by 4 PM today.. Lets see! I'm not hopeful though, as many have made such promises Will keep you guys informed! Thanks for asking saj_2001ind

Yes. Keep us informed. This way, we can better help promote this phone to our friends also (and helps the sale of SGS - hopefully samsung india will not take indian smartphone users for granted)

You can install a file explorer application for free from market. Search for ASTRO.

Finally got my Galaxy S today morning. Have been reading about Galaxy S since I don't know when. Seems mobile shops in general do not have any idea when they will get the stock. So gogled and found about Akshar's Telecom on this thread. Got up at 10 am, had a cup of tea and heade straight for Akshar's. On the way dropped by at Univercell to get a second opinion on the price. Seems the guys there do not know the difference between Galaxy and Galaxy S. So finally headed for Akshar's without any sort of detour. The guy seems to have a lot of stock. As soon as I stepped into the shop, I blurted "Galaxy S" and pop came the reply "Yes sir welcome, we have Galaxy S". The guy thought I wanted to have a look at the phone and handed me a demo piece. I didn't want any demo, I demande a sealed box and immediately he produced one. I took a 16GB SD card also.

Price of i9000 - Rs.28000/- on credit card. He said he could give Rs.500/- discount if I pay cash. I didn't have cash so I just swiped the credit card. The Sandisk 16GB was 2600/- on credit card.

One pair was buying an iphone and when they saw the Galaxy S box I was buying, their face shrunk .... hehe.....

To be truthful, the phones I have owned till now had dot matrix displays and I used them only for calling and SMS. So I cannot tell you whether the display is good or bad compared to other smart phones. I just know that it is so sensitive and it does not miss any touch and there is no jittering to the UI motion .If you have seen Xperia X10 demo videos, you can see how jittery that UI is. But this UI is so smooth and fluid and absolutely no hickups.

The only thing I have tested so far is A2DP bluetooth. I have a stereo bluetooth headset - Philips SHB9000 and it works like a charm. I also have a A2DP bluetooth car stereo head unit. And I tested playing music in my car by pairing Galaxy S with my car headunit and it is just mind blowing!!!

Anyway I m certain that I am going to enjoy this new toy for a long long time .... !!!!

your 16GB SD card will be shown as /sdcard in ASTRO. It will be as a folder (directory) on your root partition.

@Saj.. I have a 4 gb card installed and it shows in the My Files application as a subfolder called "SD"

Is it that you bought 16GB microsd card on top of a 16GB model (total 32GB space)?

I thought a 16GB model means 8GB phone + 8GB microsd card.
