Fresh 2.3.3 Released

Running it straight up. I think it is preset to run at 768.
what's good battery life to you i.e. best batt life you've ever had?

i don't see how that overclocked kernel can give you better batt lfe than stock. I ran it twice, once by itself, and flashed again and used both set cpu, and then oc widget. battery life was atrocious.... even when I underclocked w/ max to stock default, it was worse than whatever comes loaded with fresh 2.1.2 or this 2.3.3, I won't even bother again if somebody claims to get two weeks of juice out of it. i simply can't subscribe to that snake oil

new bug with this rom...its doing what 2.1.2 used to do..

when deleting gmails from phone, at some point the phone and your gmail account online stop synching. so even tho you're getting your emails on your phone, when you delete them they don't get deleted from your online gmail account. ugh this so annoying!!! the way to fix it temporarily is to clear data in gmail apps...but after a week it does it again.

I could never get a full day out of my phone with any other ROM and especially not stock. My battery used to die around 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening. I use my phone all day for business calls, email, and web access. With 2.3.3 and the overclocked kernel at 768, I still have over half the battery left at the end of the day. I also have a lot more free memory with this ROM. With both 2.1 and 2.2, my phone would lag and the free memory would drop to below 30.

Also, I did a FULL wipe of everything on my phone. Wiped, wiped, and then wiped again.

No snake oil here, just sharing my experience.

No snake oil here also either. I am constantly amazed at the battery usage of this rom/710 kernel/OC Widget combo. Best I have ever had since day one in Oct 2009. And the rom just works smooth and fast. I was using ZenROM and had realy bad battery life... I started carrying my extra battery around with me, but with Fesh 2.3.3, that is no longer needed. Possibly because the 710 OC kernel has some memory tweaks in built into it.

For some reason, I am getting lag when placing a call using a Shortcut Direct Dial. It takes at least 5 seconds to actually dial the number. In the previous version of Fresh, it was almost instant dial. I'm using HTC Hero on Sprint. Any idea what would be causing this?

I'm new to Android, so forgive me if this has been covered somewhere.

Same problem here. There was some lag with 2.1.x, too, but not as bad as 2.3.3.

Ok, I believe you guys, just is bizarre is all. I never ran ZenROM as it just seemed to hackneyed to me, but the OC kernels just haven't been good to me. I am tempted to get it yet another go based off your testimony. Rolling on 17 hours unplugged though, and I have 61% battery remaining, though haven't used the phone that much. I have though found other quirky behavior with this rom. sometimes, the dial pad won't come up in a phone call, say when am using a call automation system.

Once the video camera issue is fixed i will be flashing this in a hurry.

What's the video camera problem? I'm not aware of anything, beside the fact that HTC Hero records horrendous video and audio, despite it's hardware ability to record far better audio and video, especially audio. Apps like VirtualRecorder reflect this night and day difference. And hw wise, 640x480 is well within the spec range of the Hero, even 720x480, which would be really cool /end of unrelated rant

Ok so I wiped everything and just flashed Fresh 2.3.3 without OC this time. Issue now is the phone has just turned off twice now on its own. Can anyone else confirm this issue? Much appreciated.

Same here, wiped everything, flashed 2.3.3, ran great for a day, then all heck broke loose. Phone went into roaming where I usually have full signal, a couple of random reboots, etc... I did a nandroid back to 2.1.2 that I had set up, worked until I got home. I wiped again, reflashed 2.3.3, it rebooted once right before I fell asleep, when I woke up it was jacked up. Wouldn't even reboot without pulling the battery. Nothing worked, ended up having to install the 2.1 RUU. Stuck with that for now, at least until I get time to re-root.......

I have tried and retried to get titanium back up working, along with busybox, to no avail. Will have to reinstall all my apps, not a big deal I guess.

Problem is though, I have only wiped once (no toilet jokes please) and I cannot recall if the calendar retains all the information already stored. DO NOT need to lose that info.

1) will that info hold AFTER a wipe
2) in not, any OTHER apps out there that will

Thanks a lot

calendar should be synced with google calendar and not lose any info. I have wiped MANY times (been wearing big boy pants for a while now) and my calendar has always had all scheduled alerts..

of course if ya want to try to get together, maybe I can see why titanium isn't doing its thing for you....

If you use Gmail calendar, it should sync everything back to the phone after flashing new ROM. However, if your calendar events are saved using "My Calendar" - you will lose them because they are only stored on the phone and not synced up with Gmail calendar.

Might just be me or something I did, but the stock HTC alarm clock will not stop buzzing unless I restart the phone after it goes off. But besides that, love the rom!

did you flash the Vanilla lock screen? if you did, you also need the vanilla clock and have to set your alarms in that. the HTC clock can not be used with the vanilla lock screen for that very reason.
