Sorry to jack but I think they got there phones mixed up. It's actually on the Incredible not the Evo. It's been fun watching you guys though. Keep it up!

Just having fun. Now I wait to see all the disappointing posts.

This just in!sprint says it wont come out untill the 3rd..... Just like they said in the press release.

"MR is a high priority for competitive reasons and currently slated to launch at 12:00 pm CST on 7/30"

What is MR?

I'd guess Maintenance Release, but not sure.

For those who updaed, were you on 4G, the WIFIs, or 3G ?

just curious, my work does not get 4g, but there is a spot close that does (best buy)

Did you see the entry on their support site saying it's release date is today 07/30/2010?

The way I interpreted the press release was that on 7/30 they will officially announce that they will begin pushing the update to phones on 8/03. If you can't wait, you can manually reuqest the update... on 8/03. Not on 7/30.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but i don't think it makes sense to check every 5 minutes at this point.

I've been on vacation and I'm trying to catch up but it appears that some do not believe the update is coming today. I can tell you for a fact that during a conference call of Sprint higher-ups they were told yesterday that it would be released today. I'm not much of an insider but my best friend is an executive with Sprint and his boss (a good friend of mine as well) put them on the conference call yesterday for that reason specifically.

BTW, the same executives were told 2.1 (Hero) was going to be released two weeks before it actually came out so you can't always rely on what Sprint tells even their executives.

Let's see...12 CST is 1 EST...except we're on Eastern daylight time which is an hour later than EST meaning 2 pm EDT.

Yes its release date is today only to a "select few" and if all goes well they will roll it out on Tuesday where they will start pushing it in waves or you can download it yourself. People blindly look past that and think its coming to everyone today.
