I've been obsessively checking this thread since I ordered my DX on the night of the ninth D: It's been like two days but I can't stand the wait lol Still, since it seems people are more or less receiving their phones in a week, it's not tooooo bad. The 25th would suck!

Dude I live literally smack in the middle. Why do you think the President flies here on Air Force One when there's a threat to the country? There's less chance of missiles or bombs reaching him here. We'd shoot them down before they could even get close. He goes to an underground bunker here at Offutt Air Force Base.
As soon as my dad gets home I'm going to have him call up my local Verizon store so that they can give him the order status and information. They wouldn't give it to me since I'm not the account holder. He was supposed to be home a little while ago, but Firestone put my truck's new rear brakes on incorrectly and they locked up while he was driving over here. Jensen took off the wheels/tires and they were literally glowing blue they were so hot. He was waiting for a tow-truck for nearly two hours but it got there when I was last on the phone with him. I imagine he's currently waiting at the Firestone shop while they replace the brand new brakes that they just ruined.

Holy. Shit. My dad got home and the new tires + rims on my truck looking ****ing EPIC. They're, "Black Daytonas," from pacer2005 (Pacer Wheels. does it get any more awesome than that?). I'll have to take pictures and video once my Droid arrives and we get the truck washed.
I had my dad call VZW and I finally got some tracking information and whatnot. The order has been processed and is currently awaiting shipment. The guy added my e-mail to the account, but he said that since it wasn't there when the order was placed, it might not receive an automated message confirming shipment. He never said if there was one already on the account, so I don't know if there was for sure or not. Regardless, it's on it's way here in the long run. I can't wait.
I ordered my Droid X on Sunday, August 8th, (for those of you just joining us) and my order has apparently been processed, but it hasn't been shipped as of yet, (August 11th).
EDIT: Shoop - Salt N' Peppa, just came on the radio. Completely and entirely unrelated, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

I'm jealous. I ordered on the sixth as well, I've received nothing more than the confirmation email at this point.
I did call in and talked to a very friendly CSR, but unfortunately, all she could give me was the standard "will ship by the 25th" response. Apparently they're getting a lot of calls from Droid X buyers. Before she even looked me up she asked if I had ordered an X.

Here's the thing that I only now realized. I understand that some of you may already get this so please don't bash me lol.
When a VZW rep., or anyone employed by them, says that your phone will be delivered by the 25th, or whatever date they give you, they mean, "no later than." Some will actually use that term instead of, "by," but it means the same thing. English can be stupid sometimes and misunderstandings occur more often than generally realized. They aren't lying to you or telling you what they've been told to tell you, they're just letting you know the latest date that your device is capable of being shipped by. It will not go out any later than the date they give you. If it does somehow, THAT is when you're meant to go and complain like there's no tomorrow.

Walked in the store on Saturday, 7/30 & ordered my Droid X. Ship date 8/11. Received an email Monday, 8/2 that is had shipped! Received on Wednesday, 8/4!!! My mom ordered her's last Tuesday, 8/3. Received Yesterday, 8/10. (I am in S. Ga. She is in S. La and ordered her's via phone from a friend of mine who is Rep in S Ga. Both phones came out of Memphis.)

Maybe this will help a little. It does seem to depend how you order the phone as to which warehouse it will come form. We ordered one over the phone on July 28th and then one online on July 29th, pretty late in the afternoon. The online order got a shipping notification on Aug 1st, and shipped on the 2nd. That order came from the Memphis warehouse to Indiana. The phone order shipped on the 3rd, but came from the Pennsylvania warehouse to Indiana. Apparently phone orders and online orders come from different warehouses and it seems the Memphis warehouse must have a little more stock?

That's exactly why I'm a little testy on this. Since it's taken so long to ship, I have to call in now and ask them to change the shipping address to my school. Rather than being able to put stuff in the gradebook app from day I, I'm going to have to spend a weekend filling in all the missed stuff from my hardbound gradebook. Also means a week or so of lugging the tuner, metronome, and gradebook with me between schools when one device will do it all.
Memphis isn't that far of a drive for me.
Of course, watch my phone ship from Anchorage, Alaska instead!

Ordered mine on the 1st of Aug. Told it would ship around the 18th and I should have it in my hands on the 20th. It arrived yesterday on the 11th, with a dead pixel . Another possible two weeks of waiting.

the only reason im being so impatient is im rolling with a completely jacked first gen razr. both screens are shot and it makes a pretty bad buzzing noise when on calls. it wouldnt be too bad if shippind was consistant but this 3 day wait for one and a 3 week wait for others is absolutely ******ed when we all paid at the same time.

Just called the store(for the first time...exercising restraint) and they said there was no tracking number yet. But she said to call any time I want to ask about it. I told I wouldn't bother her because I knew they were being inundated.
Order date: Aug 5th. I waited one whole week

It is on the charger right now getting the extra 30% to fill it up. My order receipt was 11:10 am last Thursday. It arrived at around 11:00am today, 1 wwek later almost to the minute.
I guess I better hop on over to the GMail site and establish an account. Then down to the VZW store and have the contacts, pics, and stuff transferred. Also need a case. I am way to clumsy to carry this in a pocket.
Later this evening I get to let the other family members with their iphones and stuff drool.
