Flash the ROM.
Flash the VVM file found here: xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM] Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 Testing For Hero CDMA
Flash Google

It seems to be working for me, so far...

Yeah that will do it. If you have setcpu you can setup profiles for when the screen is off, battery is below a certain %, and a few others as well. That will help out you battery usage a lot.

Is anyone having issues with their gallery? When I open up a picture and then rotate the phone, then rotate it back the image becomes distorted. It looks like it's folded in half like in a fun house mirror.

Is anyone yawing lag when turning the screen back on? Especially with jit enabled? It's taking my hero like 3-5 seconds to wake up

It takes mine about the same amount of time, but for the drastic speed increase I see since I migrated from 2.1 I can't complain. I think it's cool that you can go into the options and set it so that pressing the track ball in will turn the display back on too!

Just wish my picture gallery didn't look like a fun house :thinking:

Takes a split second longer than it did with previous ROM's. About 1.5 seconds.

Thanks TeamTJ. That makes this rom 100% complete for my needs. I could never get google voice to work properly for me.

On another note.. I do have issues with the gallery doing some funky stuff sometimes, but usually if I close the app and reopen it, it straightens itself out... I have had problems sending pics via mms, also. Sometimes they work, but most times they won't go through. It is an issue I have had ever since I got my Hero, though, so I don't think that Froyo is doing it to my phone.

All the nightlies have been that way, mine too about 2 sec. The other thing I find odd is when I take the phone off the charger, it does not wake up

I only tried google nav on the 813 and it worked perfectly, have not tried on the RC1 though

I tried going there but after it loads all of the packages the only settings I see are for the trackball notifications.

so i tried to reload the sprint visual VM, but it didnt work AND i ended up with another problem. since i moved my apps from phone to SD, i now have duplicate icons when i go into my programs menu. anyone else experience this?

Anyone else having lag issues? In an attempt to fix it, I installed autokiller and enabled JIT, but it doesn't seem to have done much.

Any help would be appreciated

Can't comment on autokiller, but my phone running awesome. Here's how I've got mine set up, ( don't know exactly how battery is yet, erased battery stats and going through that process now) jit enabled, vm heap at 16, enabled surface dithering, flashed the uncapped overclock, installed oc widget and max 768 min 556. Phone is lightening fast right now

30 apps installed and running 5 widgets

Update: ran linpack and quadrant, 5.4 and 454

I have flashed the overclock.zip and the uncapped.zip. with Jit enabled but whenever I overclock to 768 it seems to be lagging worse than without it. It is even locking up my phone from time to time. However when I clock it to 710 everything works out just fine.
Am I missing something?
