Word fued... evo's words with friends

this thing doesn't keep track of anything huh?

Yeah, i noticed that. i think I may email the dev and see if there can be at least a Win-Loss-Retired record kept.

Would be a nice extra feature.

I emailed the dev and recieved this response:

Hi,

I do plan to make it make a full version. However, Google won't allow developers from Norway to sell applications on the Android Market, so I will probably end up selling it through Wordfeud's homepage (http://wordfeud.com).

I plan to add stats to the game in a future update.

Been playing this for a few months now and I'm noticing a large amount of snobs who resign at even the slightest hint of a dirty word! Just had one resign after I played the word "nude" another earlier for the combo of "zit/tit" yesterday one over "fart"

Are people really that immature?

Wondering, do the rest of you avoid the so called dirty words for fear of offending?

definately a lot of cheaters on here

i find it real odd that its a rocket scientist on the other end of my game
you can go to college and get a degree and still not know half the words most people use, pitiful

like if people really knew all these words and got them out of their head instead of using computer software to auto-find all the words out of their given letters then they would be on jeapardy or who wants to be a millionaire type tv games winning big money, instead of cheating people on android for free

of course no one will admit they are cheating
they'll just have us believe they are akin to Einstein

Gyrene, Qats, Vav...Those look familiar? I'm sure those are words you use everyday. Now, who was it that's using the auto programs?

Don't get all upset because of this. Pretty sure "wets" and "coons" don't take any kind of dictionary to come up with.

Is anyone else having trouble getting push notifications? For the last week or so, I don't get any game notifications anymore (visual or audible). I have checked and unchecked all of my settings. Still nothing.

First off, how are you sure that they are cheating? I play tons of words that I couldn't ever use in a sentence. Play long enough and experiment with enough tiles trying to score a TW and you will have a pretty expansive "scrabble" vocabulary in no time.

The only time it really sticks out to me is when there is a rush of 6-7 letter random words. 2-5 letter words? Not so much, those are easy to stumble across.

At the end of the day, just beat them anyways. There is a strategy beyond knowing a laundry list of obscure words.

Mine come and go. Sometimes it's perfect. Other times it's hours or even days late. Sometimes not at all. The last update to the game said they had improved the notification system and it seemed that way for a week or so. Now it's right back to the same thing!

Trust, nobody will admit to cheating, everybody will say they are coming up with words out of their head.

Nobody even mentioned you nor your game, wasnt even talking about you, so obviously your cheating guilt made you post it. You scored 300 points on a random board, not that hard to do with 3 TW's lined up next to each other, whoop tee doo, want 2 cookies?

I mean ive used words like 'car' and 'store' and 'wet' in a game, but please dont be a moron, obviously those arent the words I would be talking about, lets not play stupid here. Very stupid example

But yeh, nobody cheats, every body has an IQ of 200, even tho they never used these words or never utilized them until the wordfeud game. You're not fooling anybody.

If you ever play a friend u know and u losing bad, play them face to face, bet you the outcome will be a whole lot different.

I cant see air, but I know its there...............

You can play tons of words you cant use in a sentence, which would most likely mean you dont know what they mean, but yet you can spell them 100% perfect (have to for wordfeud to accept). That sounds like a cheater(cheaters can spell words, but of course dont know and could care less what they mean). How is it you know how to spell words right, but not have a CLUE what they mean? Silly math to me. What school or institution teaches people how to spell words, but never the meaning of them? Have you ever watch a spelling bee? They always ask what the word means, to help them spell it. You obviously dont know what the words mean if you cant use in a sentence, but yet your spelling on them is 100%. Just doesnt add up. At all. Theres like what 200K words in the dictionary? And I guess you just remember the spelling by people playing the words against you(therefore not needing to know the defintion). That's one hell of a memory. You should be on a game show winning real money if you are truly that bright

I mean you can have an encylopedia next to you to check words(which I do not think is cheating),but wants the point of an encylcopedia if you honestly dont know how to spell the word you're looking up?

Like I said, you can be a moron and believe everybody is bright, but wasting all their talent on a wordfeud game, or you can wake up and smell the coffee, your choice. 80% of the people playing are simply not walking encyclopedias.

Sure there is a strategy, but if you cant come up with words your strategy is useless. You cant score a TW if you cant figure out an obsure word to fit the puzzle you need in the game. I mean come on there are hundreds of sites out there like the guy posted in this topic already, dont be nieve.

You're probably one of the cheaters, since you getting offended. You can fool everybody else, not me.

A good player will school a cheating player most of the time. That's because the longest, highest scoring word is not always the best play.

But only a fool would always only play the highest scoring word. I'll easily admit theres strategy to the game of course because of DW's and TW's and stuff lying around. But if you have 7 letters in front of you, and you dont know of weird words that only a computer program can unscramble for you, then no strategy can work. You have to be able to come up with words to make any strategy work. Anybody can come up with 1 or 2 letter words but you know somebody is cheating when half the words they play use up all the 7 letters with the 44point bonus and none of them are words you've seen on tv or heard in real life.

Good for you, but I don't see the relevance. Or do I not have to see that to know it is there either?

Hey numbnut, there is no penalty for spelling a word wrong, so you can try plenty of different letter combinations until you find one that works. There are thousands of potential letter combinations between your tiles and those in play at any given moment. A basic grasp of the English language helps you eliminate the obvious ones, then you can mix 'n match until you find something. By the way, the phrase is "couldn't care less".

My schools taught deductive reasoning and probabilities. That means that even if I don't know any words, I can spend 48 hours trying to find something that works. Odds are, I could stumble across "fey" or "cad" in that time, no?

I mean you can have an encylopedia next to you to check words(which I do not think is cheating),but wants the point of an encylcopedia if you honestly dont know how to spell the word you're looking up?

Encyclopedia or dictionary? Again, you make no sense. A dictionary would be a form of cheating, to me. Look up words that start with letters that you have in your tiles and see if you can fill in the blanks. It is the slower, manual version of the cheating websites.

Like I said, you can be a moron and believe everybody is bright, but wasting all their talent on a wordfeud game, or you can wake up and smell the coffee, your choice. 80% of the people playing are simply not walking encyclopedias.

Encyclopedias or dictionaries? Either there aren't really that many people cheating or they aren't very good at it. I seem to do just fine against random opponents.

It is spelled "naive", in case you have been getting that word rejected by WordFeud. Are you telling me that if a TW was left open and you had the necessary tiles, you wouldn't stumble across "newt", "var", "cad", and "zed"?

You're probably one of the cheaters, since you getting offended. You can fool everybody else, not me.

Not offended. Not a cheater. I do, however, love calling out idiots such as yourself.

But only a fool would always only play the highest scoring word. I'll easily admit theres strategy to the game of course because of DW's and TW's and stuff lying around. As I already conceded, frequent obscure 6-7 letter words can tip you of to a cheater, but, again, that rarely happens to me and one 65 point word doesn't end the whole game.

I still sense sandy vagina from you. It might behoove (played that for 50 points yesterday) you to only play with people you know or stop playing altogether. It is a game. If you win or lose, who cares. If you think someone is cheating, resign and play someone else. I can't fathom a reason to get upset about it, though.
