Root [Guide] Removing stock apps

Congrats! Meatkernel is very solid, what i based my kernel off of actually. Now that you know how to flash using the sprint tool and install zip files from recovery you can start playing with different combinations of the many custom ROM's, patches, tweaks, etc. As i mentioned before i would recommend you install recovery 3.1.1 if you haven't already done so and familiarize yourself with it. The reason i say 3.1.1 is the backup/recovery options are improved over the older recoveries allowing you to backup the data and system folders simultaneously as well as separate. Its always a good idea to backup the data folder (this is where market apps, user settings, etc are stored) before making any changes so you can restore incase something goes wrong. In some cases you may want to backup the system folder as well (stock apps and OS files are kept here).

I have Mybackuppro which will back up both my data and applications so I'm good on that. But then again that might not back up rooted stuff...I tried to put some themes on my phone but is having a bit of a hard time doing that. Probably because I need something along the lines of DD10 stock something. I forget what it is at the moment but I have it downloaded to my computer. I will be playing with that tomorrow.
I just wanted to truly thank you for this. I am deeply thankful. Now my lil' bro-in-law wants to root his HTC b/c of me. I just hope he doesn't ask me how to do it, lol!!

I also posted this question in a similar thread over at sdx about a week ago. No answers yet:

I've got Radioactive 1.9.3, which does not install the nuance VSuiteApp.apk, but there is a folder in 'system/etc' called 'nuance' containing a bunch of .dat and .bin files. It totals about 4.6mb. Is this for nuance voice control, and is it safe to delete? I imagine it could also be used by the google voice search widget. Would that be the GoogleSearch.apk, and has anyone removed that without trouble?

Oh, lordy I hope you're not asking me, lol! You can check this thread out though:

If your phone is rooted you can download the stock removal app and it will get rid of annoying apps mentioned in that thread. I highly recommend it. It will bring a lot of space on your phone.

I'm just wondering if that nuance folder is safe to delete, without testing myself.
