My DIY Lego Dock

That is cool. I did not see an answer as to what the "orange Droid eye is for"?

Also does the Droid already have the program for the alarm clock installed so when you put it in the dock it automatically goes into that mode?

One last question is there a specific spot that the magnet needs to be against the Droid back.

Thanks for the help.

thanks for the tip! i might buy a right angle micro usb connector to accommodate. i'd like to keep it low profile.

Oh wow I didn't even think of that! They make those? I should get one that way I can shorten up this dock by a few blocks.

And an answer to the orange droid eye, I said I didn't have a red piece so I just stuck the orange one on there. It's just for decoration. If I find a red one I'm thinking of wiring up an LED to it.

ok done -ish.... :D

This one is wide enough to use with or without my soft rubberized case.... It will also let the droid sit back at a little angle. better viewing?

The builder app told me 33 bucks to buy it through their packaging... but if i part it out it will probably be around 16-18 bucks.

If anyone wants the file, here it is! Tweak it make it your own, share your model with us! Buy it through lego.... honestly it was kinda fun just playing with the program!

Left, Right, Up, Down angle micro usb connectors...

Left, Right, Up, Down angle micro usb Extensions....

i'm going to get the 5 inch right angle extension and let it hang out the back to it is easily disconnected and moved.

Vroom Vroom! Droid Mobile 1. heh.

So i ordered individual parts.... came to $22. I had quite a few extra parts, so the model i posted would probably come in around 19-20.

I'm in the holiday shipping mess now, so i wont have it till after i get back from vacation over the holidays. I'll post an image once it's built! Hopefully by the new year. :D

Yeah, I am still trying to come up with a design I like. It's tricky =(

feel free to hack apart and mod mine... you will want to do some measurements and figure out exactly how many spaces wide and deep you need to go. i actually drew it out after mocking the phone up on some acutal lego pieces... i have a skin i use most the time which is why i made it slightly larger to accommodate.

you have to work with their numbers, and remember to stay structurally sound.

Body Glove | Store

that is the case i got.

why did i think you were on another type of android phone than the droid??? anyways. you need an area 15 wide and 3 deep for the droid to sit in. it will be deeper than needed, but 2 deep is too small. so make sure to have backing to lean against for support.

Your case is about the same as mine.
