Help Wifi connects but no data (on school network only)

My school has an open wifi network. When you first use a device on the network, it presents an authentication page so that you can get full access. I authenticated, and my Vibrant connects fine and is assigned an IP. I checked with the network admin, and my MAC address is registered correctly in their system.

But I can't get any data. Sometimes if I disconnect and reconnect I can load one or two pages, but then data stops.

Other Android users (Nexus One, Droid X) don't seem to have this problem. I'm trying to get the network pro to come and help me out with this, but it seems to be a problem with my phone. Yet my wifi connection at home works fine.

Any ideas? Thanks

It is hard to pin down but mine acts differently than my Magic. At home where I have N and WP2 with auto set the S will always connect, get and IP but at random times will refuse to route data until I reboot or go somewhere else where it will work just fine. I'll go back home and it is all well again until some random time later. It is really frustrating as I can't be sure if I'll get email alerts due to the WiFI not actually working. At times when WiFI isn't working my Magic and laptop are fine. Something isn't right with the S, among other things that make me anxious to get the 2.2 update and hope they fix these things.
