Looking through the Market tonight and I come across this little gem!
Manage your files as easy as computer. The app you
cannot miss!
Browse, move, rename, creste, delete your files and
folder.

Version 1.0.1 2008-10-29
update rename and delete for safety

Version 1.0.1 56.48KB
Our prayers have been answered boys and girls!

Maybe for next version there will be copy and paste?!

would be great if the developer linked to a site that explained the file structure, so we can find app data, apps, etc.

although if we moved apps off of the internal memory, would Android still be able to run them? I imagine that google put in some restrictions to make this impossible without modifying the OS. wish they put more memory in the phone. what were they thinking with 256MB?

All we can hope is they are listening to us bitch, moan, and complain. This is the biggest blunder they could have made. What is the use of offering users the ability to expand memory to 36gb if we can store apps on the SD card. That makes no sense. The market is going to be flooded with apps which we can use because we can't store them and install them off the SD card. Who do you blame Google for the OS or HTC for the phone. Hope they fix this before 1st quarter next year cause this will make or break the G1 and Android.

Or even now. Where are the PC applications for browsing the phone?

If you are running Windows: Connect the phone to your computer with the USB cable. On the phone, pull down the notification bar tray. press on the entry Mount the SD card. Windows Autorun should pop up and ask you if you want to Open the SD card in windows explorer. Click on this. Windows Explorer opens and shows you the contents of the SD card.

With a file manager like Astro you can backup your apps to the SD card. As for running apps from the SD card, the answer is no, unless you have rooted your phone.

Question was "Where are the PC applications for browsing the phone?" Is there an application for seeing the filesystem tree of the phone on the PC and dragging/ managing files? (Not just the SD card)

I have a rooted phone and want to develop like that.
