Root LFY v1.9 with tons of Theme Options!!

I hadn't tried a Liquid Rom until 1.7. I LOVED 1.7 so after 1.8 was on my phone for all of 2 days I figured I'd give this a shot. ZERO LP redraws, very smooth, very quick. I miss the CM Power Widget customization and not being able to hit the menu button to get through the lock screen is kind of a bummer. I also noticed some very wonky battery meter readings yesterday. I went from 70 to 40 while at the gym for 2 hours. Then I put the phone on my dock for 30 seconds and it went from 40 to 60. I'm not really sure what to make of this battery life. I'm going to run this for a good portion of the day and maybe I'll figure it out from there. I'm thinking maybe it's time to wipe the battery stats and start from scratch.

Anyone else have odd battery issues?

you should fully decharge your battery then plug your phone up to the charger for a few minutes and wipe your battery stats. to do so go into recovery under advanced. then let your phone fully charge undisturbed.

I've been playing around with MIUI and UD 1.0.0 for awhile, time to give something else a try.

+1 for no boot animation, that's one of the first things I get rid of also.

I do miss that customizable power control widget.

For ya'll wanting a customizable power control widget, "SwitchPro Widget" might fit the bill. I think it cost a buck in the Market.

In my opinion - which I know doesn't mean anything - but for what it's worth - this is BY FAR the very BEST ROM ever created for the Motorola Droid. PERIOD. No bugs, no flaws, only GOODNESS!!

There is an even higher level of refinement with v1.9, and the integration of DSP Manager into Liquid Tweaks is nice, plus, the DSP settings are much easier to work with than the previous version.

The only thing I miss from the CyanogenMod power widget is the ability to turn off 3G, which came in handy for whenever I'd fall back to 1x... nice to be able to turn it off and on again to get 3G back, but oh well... I love CyanogenMod, but LFY has spoiled me by getting rid of homescreen redraws and general *buggie-ness*.

Like others here have already said, battery life could be better, but I'm not gonna complain at all with such great performance.

Each new version of LFY makes it so much more difficult to consider upgrading my Droid!

Welp ... Today was my first full day with LFY 1.9. Running the phone through the paces, all seemed well. Then I noticed that my browser, Dolphin HD, would randomly close instantly while loading certain websites. I uninstalled the app, Flash, etc., etc... and still kept having the issue. Finally, I just uninstalled Dolphin altogether and started testing the stock browser. I thought all was fine for a bit, but after awhile I found the stock browser to just close randomly in the middle of a screen draw. Argh! I am really bummed.

I'll keep playing with it and see if I can find the culprit. My next step is to remove any theming that I've done and see if that helps.

Please post if you can think of anything else.

Joe, I'm not sure what's going on with Dolphin/Browser for you, but I'm not seeing any of this. I'm not having any random closes at all while surfing the web on either Dolphin HD or the stock browser.

Formated all partitions and reflashed LFY 1.9. Here we go again...

I'll test all apps more thoroughly before theming this time.

UPDATE: Both browsers is working fine now. :)

Messenger - Same issue with stock browser (after) I flashed different themes. Did not have this issue with the original ROM. Not sure what the theme has to do with it, but it seems to be something?? Over my head.
I'm fairly certain that I did not have the issues until I themed the ROM. Tomorrow, I'm going to play with my custom theme and try to figure out what it is that broke the browsers.

rom Rating

Speed-5/5 on my droid this has been the fastest rom for me yet.

Battery-3/5 had to do a battery cycle just to get it up to par with other roms

Stability-5/5 first Rom I have tried other than BB v.4 that hasn't given me any force closes at all.

Customization-4/5 there are tons of themes easy to install but as far as simple customizations through an app it is lacking compared to UD and CM.

after a few days of usage my phone has finally settled in with this rom, and all I can say is WOW, this rom is good. I flashed evolution theme over blueberry (some icons arent themed in evolution that are in blueberry, and the colors mix great). So far this rom is blazing fast, has posted the fastest linpack and quadrant scores 1625 on the stock 1100 kernel, on my phone over other roms. Granted its onyl been on my phone for 2 days, I have had 0 homescreen redraws which is very welcome, also I havent had any force closes which has been a huge surprise to me (been playing with miui which is full of FC's).

On the first day I had this rom battery life was abysmal, I got about 5 hours off a full charge before needing to plug it in, but after a full discharge and recharge the battery was great. Took it off the charger around 10AM, and from 10AM to about 2 PM I had it streaming music via bluetooth, texting, and some robot unicorn attack through the browser. this is the first rom I have had to do a full battery cycle to get better battery life which is annoying but cant complain too much.

THEMES! this is were this rom really stood out to me, tons of themes ready to go through rom manager. I was able to try out all the different themes quickly and decide which one I liked best without having to go to pc and sync everything each time. But, this rom is lacking some of the customization options i have grown to love in UD1.0 such as quick font changes, installing of themed apps or stock apps, and that UD settings in the settings pane. (yes I know of the liquid tweaks app, it just doesnt provide enough for me)

Overall I would say this is one of my top rom choices, but I cant decide if i will keep it more than a week, theres just too many other roms to try.

Love it. 2 things I would like to see is the option to get rid of the "Verizon Wireless" on the pull down screen and the option to set my own notification colors. For now the battery seems fine as I have been playing alot of angry birds with little drain. Lovin it so far. I came from 1.8 so the biggest thing for me was the options on themes that 1.8 lacked. Lovin the blueberry!

You do have the option to set your own notification colors. In Liquid Tweaks, go to Interface. You need to reboot before your color changes will be implemented.

For the Verizon Wireless banner, you can buy Pulldown Editor in the Market, or edit the eri.xml file following the directions here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/57078-how-edit-eri-xml.html. I found the directions easy to follow.

Ok showing my nubness here. I do see where I can change colors but Im talking about the flashing ledlight in the top right. If I can change this I dont know which one does this. Is it the "Carrier SPN label" and the "PLMN label?"

With the verizon text I came from SS rom and this was a option in his "Tweeks section" I guess what im getting at is I would like to see it as an option for easy editing such as he provided in your Tweek section. Just to me would be more user friendly. For now tho I will be using your instructions provided and thank you for that.

Oops, sorry -- I thought you were talking about notification text colors, not LED colors. So you're right, there's no option to change LED notification colors. That is, in fact, the only thing I want that LFY doesn't currently have.
