Switching from VZW Tab to T-Mobile??

Considering turning in the VZW Tab for the T-Mobile Tab. HSPA+, 16gb of internal storage, no overage fees for 5gb cap, 39.99 for 5gb. I apparently live in one of the "4g" areas now, but I don't know how the "No Roaming" thing will work for me. I don't want to be driving down the road using Google Nav and have the signal drop out because of Cell coverage. Anyone mind helping me choose? Will there be a restocking fee for VZW? I live in the Richmond, Va area.

I have the T-Mobile Tab. Normally I buy everything through Sprint, but the "4G" and lower monthly cost caused me to buy through T-Mobile. So far, I'm getting fairly good speeds from the network... I generally test around 3.2Mbps down, .6Mbps up., better than I'd have received from Sprint 3G (much better than I get on my EVO).

I guess the ultimate question is... where will you be driving with respect to the T-Mobile network. And also, how much space do you need on the device.

I assume the VZW Tab stores everything on the SD card but when I purchased it I had about 1.6gb available on Internal but now that I have had it a few days it's down to 1gb free. It seems something is writting to the internal storage and you can't mount the internal to see whats collecting. The File system gets confusing if you use something like Astro. My Incredible I have figured out but the Tab file system seems very different. I also don't like paying the 50.00 for 5gb with no overage allowed. The free Hot Spot is available on both but VZW will charge for overage again.

I'm sure I will get that reduced. It's still a better deal going through T-Mob. I got Military discount for Data with no taxes and fees. $35.00 a month for almost 4g. 4g will be complete by next year. Still 3.9g is still fast. Only $134.00 to bring it home on contract, and no payments till Feb for the remaing 3 ea payments of $112.00. It cost me $449.00 with a $50.00 rebate mailed to my house. You can't beat it.

I think free messaging stopped Sunday too. I guess I picked a good day to upgrade. They said I had free messaging for the remainder of my two year contract. After that it's additional. The two year contract really is a good deal. The ETA is still $200.00 so you hold on to the $200.00 you save on contract and use it for the ETF when you want to cancel. T-Mob also said the restocking fee is only $10.00 so you could take it back and then get it on contract. Cancel when you want.
