If You Still Have Issues.....

Maybe because VZW wants to charge people to change models? Maybe because we are angry that we expect a certain level decent customer service and good working device. The point is, the Eris users have a very good reason to be upset, this is part of the reason why I created this thread in the first place. Its a thread where people can vent and get informed as to what to do when the Eris acts up. If you don't like what is being said here, go to another thread.
No no no no no..the guy with 2 posts said we are cry babies. So it's true.
This is a thread to vent, so there's not one need for them to be in here posting if they're not having the same issues.

That's fine though, because they're both on my ignore list now and forever.

i must have the magic touch. my storm 1 was awesome when i had it, my wife is on her 4th storm and they all sucked bad compared to the one i had.

my eris, fingers crossed, has had little to no problems as of yet.

ill reiterate all the calling and emailing in the world is not going to make htc or verizon do anything earlier then what has already been stated as far as bug fixes and upgrades.

that said, emailing them with specific bugs you find is probably a good idea so they know that going into testing on new builds.
That is what I was trying to get people to do...email/call them with specifics on errors that are occurring. Emailing and calling saying your device sucks, blah blah, will not do anything. However, it will make them realize and at some point admit that there is an issue. If we don't they will not bother to try and even look into it.

I have an Eris and I'm fully aware of the bugs... any phone you go to is going to have these bugs. They all have their own. It's expected. Must be your first smart phone or something and you are used to how the dumb phones react and move for you... Like others in this thread, I had a Storm... that thing is horrible, no way would I ever go back to that thing and having an Eris with very few bugs opposed to one with many... I'll take my Eris any day.

And as said before... after the little email rant he sent to HTC... he is LUCKY he even got a response... and again he didn't like that response he was given.

Or a better solution... keep your money in your pocket a few extra months next time until you see the phones problems and updates and then take the plunge if you want to deal with them... the phone has only been out a little over a month, give it time.

and you expect them to assume liability....they aren't going to do it....they are not stupid.

you assume the guy you talked to was stupid, you assume he lied to you when he told you he has not got a complaint about a eris locking up, that is a lot of assuming.

seemed to me he tried to help you out as best he could with the info he had available, he actually replied to your ridiculous emails berating htc when he didnt have to im sure.

looks to me like you actually got some decent service from them, the steps to disable sense ui he gave you are probably the official steps he copy and pasted from a form.

he even told you the steps to escalate the issue if you wanted to, have you taken those steps? or you thought "oh forget it"....

but apparently that isn't good enough, you come here to bad mouth a person doing there job and IMHO doing it well or at least the best he can with the info he had.

if you have that much of a problem with htc, and apparently you always disliked Sense, why in the world would you buy a phone with sense on it?

its like buying a lexus even though you hate lexus's, then signing up on a lexus forum to bad mouth your lexus......IT MAKES NO SENSE.
The guy did lie because I called twice and emailed as well. It was all polite too by the way. I have spoken with others that have said they did the same. So its either the guy lied literally or didn't do his/her job by not looking up information in their database. The HTC reps tend to be douches, the first time I called, i explained what was going on and he became very condescending and just a straight douchebag. HTC may not admit, but, don't blame people for trying to get them to do as they should....admitting to the problem.

Your right in one aspect, being profane...i think it the word will get the email tossed...usually. My brother works in VZW Internet Response dept. They will toss the email and email you back only to inform you of how inappropriate it is to send such emails.

This is by no means my first smartphone, I've had all three iPhones, two BlackBerries (Pearl and Storm 2) and 1 WinMo device. See if HTC would just say that they are aware of the issues that I submit and recognize its not an isolated incident...and that they are currently working on it. I actually will be happy. The reason why I'm so upset and I'm sure others are too is because, they kind of BS response and attitude we receive which causes us to be even more upset when dealing with the actual problems.

first, antawhatever, you have sincerely hurt my internet feelings :( how will i go on....you know what they say though buddy, ignorance is bliss ;)

sbacklin, you really do not know the guy lied, sure you may have sent emails and called, but how do you know, for sure, that that guy antwhatever was talking to was made known of that fact?

know what i mean? everyone assumes that whenever you contact million dollar companies tech support that all the techs are on the same page and they all know exactly the same information but they may not, you never know, so to slight a person or call them a liar for something so ridiculous as a phone problem is crazy.

what do they stand to gain from lying about that? what would be the difference if he had said "oh yes we have heard some complaints about this" think he was just having fun and messing around? i doubt it, people need to relax.

If you are not truthful...knowingly or unknowingly, you're lying. Also, HTC is a phone company, so calling in or emailing about a 'phone problem' is not ridiculous by any means. The tech would've been on the 'same page' if he/she would've checked their database. If no information is in the database that just shows how bad of a company HTC is given that myself and others have already contacted them. If it was there and the rep didn't look, again, it makes HTC look stupid and more importantly, gives people good reason for 'slighting' them (reps) for not doing their jobs.

Wow! Guys, let's take a breath! Every smartphone I have had has had issues. Hell, even some of the generic phones I have had have SUCKED. Anyone remember the Motorola 635? I went through seven in six months. I called Verizon and asked for my conpensation as a beta tester.

My Palm Treo 650 tried to connect constantly while roaming. If I wasn't on a Verizon tower I watched the phone try and try and try to connect. The solution? Turn off the browser, email, etc. Finally got rid of it.

Went through three Windows based phones. Each one got a little better than the last, but by WinMo 6.0 I was off than bandwagon.

The Storm? Most will say it sucked. And it did. RIM finally has it doing most things right. Only reason I don't like it is the browser. It does everything else VERY well, thank you.

The Droid. It doesn't, plain and simple. Great Computer. Lousy phone.

And the Eris. Sounds like they took a step backwards with it. It will get fixed. But it takes feedback from US. Feedback without a lot of hate and discontent. If you are frustrated tell them so, but do so in a professional manner. Put them on the defensive not the offensive.

I have said my peace. Hope I don't go on anyone's ignore list...

Rc addict this is not directed at you I just wanted to quote something in your post.
I was playing with the storm 2 at work, and I've got to say, They finally got it right. So that is very encouraging, I had the storm 1 and until the last update it was bad. The browser does suck, still, but I hear that blackberry will be getting a webkit browser next year.

As far as complaining about the phone. Everyone reacts differently. Lets say you buy a brand new car, some people will take it back every few days for "little things", and others just let it go until something really big goes wrong. Only the individual can decide what the "little thing" is, to what might not bother you may be a huge nuisance to someone else, and they have a right to voice their opinion.

I totally agree with you on both accounts!

Apparently complaining about software issues within something you paid for is being a crybaby. When did this happen? I must have missed the memo.

Where do you see me calling you or anybody a crybaby??? Please do not misrepresent what I said. I didn't point my finger at ANYBODY. I agreed that people have a right to voice their opinions. I just choose to do it in a "smarter" fashion. Put them on the defensive!

No no no read my first post on the second page. The dude with like 3 posts called me a crybaby. I thought you had already read that. My bad.

Not at all. I forgot what was on the last page. Or the one before that. I was simply agreeing with the statement that I quoted him on.

Let's all take a step back from the name game and remember that we are all here for the same reason: Our passion and frustration about something we all consider to be a common sense approach to getting our technology "fix" and get our toys fixed when they don't work right.

Well complaining about it is what gets things fixed, else ways nothing would get fixed because they wouldn't know about the bugs in order to do so.
So someone calling someone else a crybaby is just ludicrous. And he had the nerve to call ME immature lol.

I am more than twice your age and am still as immature as they come.

Believe me, use your intelect to get one over on the corporate guys you talk to. Take them out of their scripts. They don't know more than what is on their computer screens and what their supervisors tell them to tell us.

Well I don't think it applies well over email. I'd call them but I don't feel up to the headache right now.

Hmmm.... I've been out of grade school for a while now, but last I remember, calling people stupid is pretty immature. Just sayin'.

Seriously. I find it amazing that a select few people are having such horrible, frustrating issues and go so far as to degrade any and all customer service people just because they don't have the perfect fix for every single thing. THE PHONE IS 50 SOME DAYS OLD! If you don't have the patience to work through the issues, then switch to a frickin iPhone or just carry a dumbphone and a laptop with you at all times.

I myself am very happy with my phone and it happens to work exactly as I need it to. It is possible!

First of all, your attitude is just as bad as saying someone is stupid...so why don't you take your attitude to another thread. I created this thread for people to vent about their issues and to suggest that they contact HTC so HTC will have a record of these issues as we all know that is needed for them to start working on a fix. If you don't like what we have to say or that you just can't believe that more than a "few" are having issues, go somewhere else instead of hating on the Eris users that want the phone to work right.

"Select Few"...It isn't just a select few. There are lot of people having issues with the Eris...either the signal not right or the phone locking up, lagging, etc. They have posted across multiple forums.

As far as CSRs go, some of them are not all high and mighty as you like them to be, they can be complete douches. As stated before, my first time calling them...I camly and politely explained (I know how the game is played) my situation and the guy became very condescending and was just a complete douchebag...telling me...pretty much oh well...there is nothing wrong with their phone....bs. Then their email people were slow and then tried to tell me that I should send my phone in for repair....at the same time telling me it would cost me....WTF? I don't think so.....I'm not paying for a repair that should be free since the Eris is still considered new. So yeah...some reps do deserve a mouthfull every now and then. They are not angels.
