This is currently being uploaded and linked at this thread:

[ROM] Azrael X v3.1 1/05/2011 (3.70.651.1 OTA/HTC #15 kernel) - xda-developers

I figured I'd share the news to anyone here who doesn't use/follow Azrael or XDA Developers, or to especially those who have been waiting for the next build.

Seems like a pretty promising rom/kernel bundle (HTC #15)

Edit: ROM is now available for download. Currently downloading from RapidShare, I will add my impressions shortly.

Download Azrael X 3.1 1/05/2011:
Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Features:
-Everything working!
-403+ MB memory available after a clean installation
-Extremely Fast and stable
-PNGOUT optimized Framework and some system apps
-PNGOUT optimized stock wallpapers
-Fully Deodexed
-Data/App functionality
-BASH shell support
-All data/apps updated to latest
-Automatically Zipaligns all apps after each boot to help them load up faster
-Moved Dalvik to cache instead of eating up main memory.

List of changes from 3.0:
-Hopefully smoother for more people thanks to little fixes here and there
-Removed one init.d script (app permission fix) which may have been causing some app incompatibilities for some people on certain apps
-Included standard ringtones from OTA (regular ringers only) plus the rest from Azrael X v3.0
-All Notification sounds from the stock OTA , older versions of Azrael, and from Azrael v3.0 (TONS to choose from now!)
-Changed the default font to a bolder, easier to read one (very similar to the stock font)
-All apps updated to latest versions
-Updated Wireless Tether to latest 2.06 (tested, works good for me)
-Fixed update-script error (thanks to those who told me about it, stupid typos!) so now the ROM properly puts android.tether folder on the SD card as originally intended (helps wireless tether work properly)
-Fixed update-script to remove all errors and repeat information
-Removed apps now will be found on your SD card under Azrael_removed. To install, get Root Explorer and move them from that folder to either system/app or data/app or ADB Push them and reboot the phone (this is why download size is a bit bigger now)
-Calkulin’s SNQ 4-in-1 reboot MOD updated to new version for 3.70 framework (looks better now)
-Calkulin’s MMS 5MB limit MOD now working properly
-Calkulin’s MMS Compression fix working with the 3.70 Framework
-Calkulin’s USB Tether (Wired tether) fix MOD working with hotspot unlocked for 3.70 framework
-Moved Blockbuster.apk to the Azrael_removed folder

I don't understand why this rom doesn't get more interest. It's quick, smooth, and I haven't had a single issue with it. It's stock looking only if you're looking on the surface. I guess I'm a lil older than most of the guys flashing roms and don't really care for most of the really gaudy theming most other roms contain.

I'm pretty damn impressed with this one. My only real concern is battery and I won't know how it handles it until tomorrow when I go to work with a full charge.

Also, the transitions aren't really all that to me. I think I would turn them off if I could.

In any event, it's pretty damn smooth. Noticeable smoother than other roms than I have used. Plus it has a lot of cool added sounds. I'm really liking this one.

You can, in spare parts.

It only allows me to control the speed of them. I've played with these settings and didn't get anywhere as far as these powerpoint style transitions.

Edit: Ah I see what you're saying. I can turn them off completely... hmm, I would like to have subtle transitions, just not these dramatic ones. I don't like none at all either... just the stock ones if I could.

I don't know about the new 3.70 framework, but with the earlier roms there were flashable transition packs. I believe the transitions on 3.1 are a blend of 3 or 4 types of transitions. Something you may be able to bring up to the dev.

I would love to hear what you think about this Rom compared to Myn's and what the major differences are

Im eagerly awaiting myns rls 5 with the 3.70.. that way i can update the radios and then get the new version, but im thinking about doing the radio update then going ahead and taking this till myns 5 comes out...

Ill have to think about it tonight lol.

I loaded this up last night and it works fantastic for me. By far my favorite Sense-based ROM, (although starting with 3.70 I never got much out of Myn's).
Haven't looked at flashing any special kernels yet on the EVO, that's what used to get me into trouble with my D1! I was also pretty impressed with all of the internal storage after install, even though most Sprint apps are still included.

All ROM's come with a kernel. The majority of ROM's will come with a stock HTC kernel.

Yes, you can flash all ROM's through CW.
Thanks Frenchy, well here I go this is my first Rom flash since I rooted yesterday. I have a back up of phone right after rooting using clockworkmod using manual method and A back up using titanium backup they are both on my sd card and both are on my pc (for just in case) I am going to flash the new rom using manual method with clockworkmod on boot up following the how to flash roms from the rooting for dummies, anyone have any words of wisdom before I throw myself under the train:):)

eh it's so-so as far as I can say. It's only my first day on a full charge and I'm at 30% after about 8 hours.

Using the included kernel and no CPU tweaks.

Funny you say that because I flashed it a few hours ago to give it a try and I felt the same way.

I'm actually running Mikfroyo right now and even though I don't like his theming, it's the fastest ROM out the box I've ever experienced, hand over fist.
