IT was tuning our PC at work, I made the comment about adding android to it, as he gave me a puzzled look as I noticed his D1..
Immediately I assumed it was rooted, as I asked him what rom etc...
His look got even more puzzled.
He is stock no apps. nothing...
Being I.t I thought for sure when he powered the Droid up it would cause a blackout statewide...

Just thought it was funny.

exactly what he said, bossman made him get a smartphone for email, if it wasn't for that he would have it..

For a split second I thought I had found me a D1 worthy buddy (well I did) there are now 3 of us in the company the I.T guy, a Bosian woman (that has no clue what the phone can do) and me..
About 4 other guys have various androids and the rest are in the iphone herd or dumbphoned... (I just filed copyright for that new word)

I'm IT and I am most definitely rooted lol. Then again, IT is not going to be my career, it is more of a hobby now - it has been my career for the last 15 years, up through 2007, but now I am back in school to move on.

but, yeah, I can't count the number of IT guys I know (particularly sysadmins / netadmins and above) that absolutely do not know the first thing about their phones, iPhone, Android or RIM based. The again, though, these are also guys that run multiple *nix servers at home and routinely have private pipes between relatives' residences for quick and easy fixing.....
