My headset is effing up right now and I don't know why. It lets me talk through the mic but when people talk I can't hear them but they can hear me. It's happened before and I fixed it by turning off my xbox but it didn't work this time.:(

EDIT: Sorry I wrote it backwards

Try wiggling the connection at the controller while it is plugged in.

Maybe unplug and replug it back in a few times to see if it corrects it.

Try wiggling the wires where they go into the headset.

Take the batteries out of the wireless controller and put them back in.
If it's a wired controller, unplug and replug the controller.

It may be time for a new headset. They aren't the best quality in the world, but they are cheap if you stick to the ones that came with it.

I'm rockin a pair of Plantronic Gamecom 367's. It's for PC gaming so I use an audio mixer to pair it with the xbox. Good quality sound with noise cancellation mic and it only costs around $21 - $24 at most retailers. Check the reviews, most people say they're almost as good as the top tier turtle Beach's & Tritton headsets. It's the best bang for your buck.

If you pre-order Homefront from Best Buy, they are giving Turtle Beach headsets with it as a bonus for free. I don't know which exact model but regardless, it's a steal.

EDIT: Best Buy no longer offers the TB headset with the pre-order. It was a limited time offer which has now expired. Sorry folks!

Lol go figure the day I go to pre order they stop it

I'd definately suggest you invest in turtle beaches. And you dont have to spend $200 either. They have several models in different price ranges and even the cheaper models are a huge improvement. For anyone who can't afford to dish out a couple hundred on a game accessorie, Wal-mart has a decent pair for around $70.

Also, to the guy who doesn't like the game and voices coming through together, I was the same way. I liked having my headset on one ear and having the game sounds come through the TV. However, since I got a tb headset, I got over that quick. The sound quality is so good I actually heard sounds in the beginning of a game that I had never heard before, and I had played that game about a bagillion times.

I definitely agree with this. Not only will you get used to having the sounds together but you'll learn how to balance the two sounds to get the most out of your headset. I will not play without my beach's, and I recommend them to everyone, especially when they comment on my game.
