Root wifi won't connect now on Gingerbread

Hi, searched all the other threads on wi-fi problems with the samsung galaxy ace and no resolution seems to be forth coming

I got the Ace a week or so ago and it worked fine on the network

I have now upgraded to Gingerbread and wi-fi has not worked since.

I have tried the network open and secured and no luck

what gingerbread rom you using? i just rooted to gingerbread 2.3.3 villainrom 1.0 its a light version. solved thw wifi error probs!
what country u in? u might need the csc file for your network.

where did you upgradeto this from?
did you notify them of this prob?

if so and still no joy you should try a different version.

I got it from Samfirmware . com. I tried all versions that they had (apart from going back to original). I havn't told them yet, but there seems to be a lot of it on the net about these issues.

I took it back to shop and bleeding thing fired right up and hooked into O2's store network. I just coulnd't believe it. Tried it in various places before and Nothing.

So just got to wait for driver update or somthing sometime.

Anypointers to original Roms or differnet flavours
