I wonder how the early release works for SP people if you pre-ordered at RS or BB? Might have to give one a call later today and see!

This deal is online for Sprint Premiere customers, so I would assume two things:
1) it has to be done at Sprint
2) you'll get it on the 22nd since Sprint typically overnights their phones for Free.

I may just deal with some mail-in-rebates to get the phone a few days earlier. I normally go through Sprint but decided to pre-order from Best Buy this time around.

I'm pretty sure I can just return the $50 gift card to best buy correct?

Well it looks like I may have to get it through sprint and use my RS gift card for accessories. I'm still going to call RS though to see if they got the green light for the 21st.

I'm confused on the overnighting. Sprint's shipping policy says that their standard overnight will arrive in 2 - 5 business days. Is this just something Sprint has as their policy to cover their but in case for some reason it takes longer?

Well I have a question. I have two lines and I know only the main line on the account gets premier status so on the 21st would I be able to buy two 3vo's or will they only let me buy one on the 21st and then the other on the 23rd? This is important because my girlfriend, who already has an evo on my account, also wants the 3vo and I will be in deep doodoo if one 3vo shows up on the 22nd and not two.

EDIT: Nevermind I spoke with sprint and I will be good to go.

I think thats something they always have said just to cover their butts if something goes wrong. In either case I have always gotten my phones the next day. There have been times where I have ordered a phone 5pm and it shows up at my door at 9am the very next day. So unless you live in the boonies somewhere then you should be fine.

Both of these are just statements to cover their butt.

Everytime I order from Sprint or Sprint.com, it shows up the next day.

My other question was at the bottom on the last page so I'm not sure if it was seen. Anyone know if I can just return my Best Buy gift card from the pre-order if I decide not to use it?

Definitely not going to push the issue with sprint and order online to get it a day early and have to deal with their mail-in rebates. Home deliveries don't arrive at my house until 7pm.

I'm also trading in my Hero for $40-$50. And to top it all off, I'm traveling on the 23rd, so I wouldn't be able to enjoy it if it were delivered on time. I'll just be sitting in the RS parking lot come Friday morning at 8am.

My Hero came in the next day. I don't know about returning the card. I think you might have to spend it.

When I got my BB card they told me it was fully refundable. So I would think you could return it for a refund.

Yes.

I believe you can do it online via "My Account".

If you are a new customer, just call them and they'll have you up and running in a few minutes.

Never had a problem with activating a phone that was shipped to me.

I hate dealing with sales people and in-store CSRs most of the time so I don't mind spending a few minutes on the phone to get it set up.

Best Buy $50 gift cards can be spent on anything in store. Not much of a need to try to return them if you are going to spend money there at some point. Lots of people have talked about getting accessories there with their gift card too if Sprint did something like this.

I'm guessing Sprint just secured a bit of business back from 3rd party retailers. Even I'm thinking about trying to use the 21st (the catch is that my upgrade may or may not be ready for the 24th--or 21st. So I may have to try to call or go in store and force my hand or wait it out till the 1st of the month.)

The problem is Best Buy is usually over priced for everything. I'd be better off saving the card to be used as a stocking stuffer for one of the kids.

If Best Buy gives out double reward points or free accessories I could probably wait another couple of days. Add on top of that the instant rebates and it is hard to say no.

My only concern is Best Buy not getting enough stock. Last thing I want to do is wait even longer for another shipment.

Yes, you can return your gift-card (Pre-Order) at BB if you want to and get a full refund. This has been confirmed by a few different people on this forum (various other threads).

I pre-ordered from BB, and am also interested in their release. I'm #1 on their pre-order list, so whenever they get one in I should have one reserved for me.

If anyone gets confirmation about any special offers BB is offering (such as free accessories, double points, etc) for the Evo 3D launch, as well as when BB expects to have the 3D available for purchase, this info would be greatly appreciated.
