Mine drops quite fast. Most of my battery usage is Cell Standby. I swear my phone never has signal. My time without a signal is normally around 40% or more. While it's searching for a signal it eats up the battery faster than any games I've been playing. I still managed to get about 12 hours out of it. If it didn't have the signal problem I would imagine that the battery life would be significantly boosted.

The battery of this phone seems fine. After having it for three days, it has been one and a half since last charging and now it shows 79%. I have realized that if you kill apps like crazy, many of them get automatically launched again, just to get killed again by software you have installed like Apollo Task Killer, etc. During the startup of an application it seems eating lots of power. I assume that this is due to eating up CPU resources in order to get running as fast as possible. This way, my phone had lasted for less than 8 hours on the first day after the first 100% charge.
Now, I kill reasonably those that I don't like when I start the phone and then I leave it as is. The battery seems now to last long.

I highly recomend the watchdog app it will do a better job of managing apps for you. You can even set app thresholds and white/black list ... it works great.

I have the Verizon Play and have no issues with battery life. I do live in an area with good signal, though. This is my 3rd Android phone and the battery life on this phone has been better than the other 2 phones. I have alot of apps installed, but I keep keep wifi, gps, and bluetooth off until I need them. I have Car Dock v3 installed that puts my phone in car mode automatically turning on bluetooth and gps when I am in the car and turning them off when I exit the app. Then I keep the car charger plugged into it.
On verizon's website, the reviews are very positive in regards to battery life. So those with issues with battery life may have a defective battery or phone.

Thanks for this, it is nice to hear of a comparison with other Android based handsets. To often people are comparing it with their generic non touch screen handset which had much better battery life. :)
