Im a dhd user. This happened to my dhd two days ago. The loud speaker is on automatically whenever i make or answer a call. Please help and thanks for your attention

Welcome to the forums. Have you inadvertently altered any settings? If you go into the sound menu, does unchecking "Flip for Speaker" help at all?

Thanks. I've tried unchecking the "flip for speaker" and it doesn't help. Could this have something to do with the gingerbread update? Just updated to gingerbread last week fyi. And i would like to ask does using the car panel app automatically switch on my phone's loud speaker whenever i make or answer a call? Because i remembered waking up few days ago and saw my phone's car panel app on. I suspect that's the root of the problem. Please help =D

Im having the same issues with the loud speaker. I know another person who has the same problem. For me the issue seems to come and go. For a few consecutive times the loud speaker will automatically turn on during incoming/outgoing calls. But then the problem will stop for a while. Its very confusing, seems to be some bug in the software.

Mine did this the other day, but hasn't again since. It also went a bit weird the same day when playing music through a speaker plugged in the 3.5mm while on charge, started speeding up the songs! I'm hoping it was just a one off...

The automatic speaker can be fix simply by resetting ur sim card (taking out sim card putting it back) and restarting ur phone.......works for me.....

I've got the same problem, tried the sim method but still the problem is there, does anybody think it could be a hardware problem and not a software problem as so many have the problem but were all not running the same rom?

Might be, there have been a few common H/W problems on the DHD, this could potentially be one of them.

I have read on t'internet that there may be a problem with the USB connector, something about the 4 and 5 pins shorting??

The USB thing has been commented on before, you could try blowing a can of compressed air in to it, that has been known to sort. It can be more complicated than that though and there is a physical problem with the connectors themselves.
No probs! Yeah, flashing ROMs can get addictive, every time I tried a new one, I ended up going back to CM7 though.
