Should I consider upgrading from the DInc right now?

Samsung Droid Prime is the phone of the year I'd wait for that.

I'm kinda with you but I'm worried it might also end up be the "yeah, we finally effed up and went too big" phone. Latest rumors are now saying 4.6". Again, it's rumor but come on people, can we just slow this train down a lil bit. I'm envisioning myself making a custom pull cart to transport it around with me for JHC sake. Perhaps dust off my parachute pants from the 80's so I have pockets that will hold it?

Nah - just cargo pants. Same type of thing, little more recent. And you can put the phone in one pocket and the gingerbread cookies in the others - that way you can tell people you have gingerbread on your phone. (cause you know that you will inevitably put the phone in the same pocket with the cookies at least once)

I heard the phone is still the same as the 4.3 inch phones somehow they squeezed an extra .3 inches of actual screen in.

I love my Incredible and the size but I admittedly wouldn't mind a slightly larger size for LTE web browsing and things like that.

We'll see though - I agree the thought of a 4.6" phone sounds a bit too big.

if I still had my inc, I would be holding out for a better selection. I got an inc2 through an insurance claim, but otherwise I wouldn't upgrate right now. I sell phones all day, so heres my reasoning:

The Tbolt, since all the recent updates, has turned into a pretty solid phone, however its nearing EOL (end of life) and HTC had a phone pass through the FTC or whatever that will be the replacement and it looks like a beast.

The Charge, eh. Never been impressed with Samsung phones. There is always a ton of hype around em, but honestly, their UI is clunky and they are horrible at updating their phones to the newer versions of android OS.

LG Revolution. Lowest priced 4g phone, you get what you pay for. Have had a ton of issues with the few of them we have sold and honestly, my store has pretty much vowed to not sell any more of them. Software and hardware issues galore. Not to mention its already almost EOL with LG announcing the Revolution 2 coming out in the fall.

The incredible2. What can I say? I love it. Battery life is easily twice what the original inc. a little bigger screen, front camera (which I don't use, lmao) and very solid performance. Great overall phone, no doubt about it. Most solid phone we carry right now. However, its really not a big upgrade from the original inc.

droid x2. Meh, moto has/had some software issues to figure out cuz that phone, along with the droid 3 are buggy as hell.

honestly, wait till the end of october. By then we should have all the new phones in tow (including the Bionic which launches next week) and you will be able to get a pretty significant upgrade (hopefully) over the original inc.

That would be a very messy way of installing Ice Cream Sandwich...

I'm curious to see whats up with Bionic though I'm WAY partial to HTC. Almost pulled trigger and got Tbolt, glad i didn't.

I really dislike Moto but must say, I played with the Photon today and it is a BEAST! If the bionic is anything like it then moto is definitely on to something

That said i'm practically 100% going for the Vigor

I should have a bionic in my store next week sometime, if not today (crosses fingers). I've not been overly impressed with anything motorola has done with android phones recently, however, just the hype alone makes me want to play around with that bionic. Once I get one in my hands I'll write a little something up here for you guys.
the droid 3 looks great, but its still laggy and buggy, I'm guessing its motoblur, but I'm not sure. I sure hope the bionic isn't the same way...

LOL!!!!! Anyway, my thought is I will make sure I can root it before I get it as an upgrade, and in that case probably definitely HTC due to all the devs that make roms for the HTC phones. Samsung may not be too bad soon though, they hired a guy from cyanogenmod which is a minimalist rom that flies.

Myself as well. My NE2 date is December 28 (like all the pre-orderers around here) and I'll be waiting to see if the Vigor is everything it's supposed to be. If not, or if there's another even better HTC phone rumored at that time, I may wait even longer. I have no desire to let my Incredible go unless its replacement is WAY better.

appleton! Another wisconsin native, yay. I lived in madison for 5 years, love wisconsin. Family is season ticket holders for the packers, so I drive up to GB from michigan at least once a year now.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, lol. Just gotta shout out to my fellow cheesehead!

I love Appleton. Had a customer there many years ago. Enjoyed visiting.

I just got an email saying I could get the biggest discount now but thee is nothing I want more than this incredible. I will wait for vigor to be out 1 month and if things look good, my son will be geting an HTC Netflix/mp3/game player.

Just a note to those who don't want a larger screen; I came from an OG Droid (same screen size, thicker and heavier) to the Bionic and the additional screen real estate is amazing. Web browsing is so much better. It's lighter and thinner than the OG (probably on par with the DInc). Blur is actually quite nice (coming from a ROM flashing fanatic), and a bit refreshing.
Though, I'd say if you don't have upgrades for another couple months, I'd definitely wait for the Prime or Vigor (if you need Sense).

Like others here I love my incredible...even more so now that it's rooted and running cm7. With that said I've been watching the Bionic with interest. I am a farmer and the fact that you can see the Bionics screen outside is of great value to me. Once that phone is rooted with s off I may just take the plunge.

+1 on the interest in vigor, but retaining my incredible

mine started fritzing yesterday (boot screen flashing "htc incredible"...won't boot) and i'm hoping its just the battery (replacement already ordered). if the phone is toast i will buy a replacement dinc bc i'm not interested in any other vzw phones out atm, and the dinc actually is incredible (excepting battery life and front cam).

rooted with stock rom and wifi, nandroid, ti backup, etc. nothing fancy, but it is a great machine for me. loved skype video calls to my brother in thailand, and netflix!

I'm returning my Bionic because it wasn't worth the $300 (to me) to upgrade from the Incredible.... I tried it, i liked it, but I have to ask myself, "Is it worth it?" I had to answer... "I don't think so."

I am in the same boat and leaning towards returning it. It is a good phone but the 300$ tag on it I don't believe its worth it, not to mention no lte here. At least I have a few more days to mess with it ;p

Another cheesehead here... Neenah, neighbor to Appleton..! As for the thread... Vigor seems to be another 4.3" screen... Inc2 4" is almost too big for me. 4.3" is a deal breaker for me. But I think like what others are saying, if you want the best hardware, you are going to have to get the 4.3".. Maybe in a year or so they can get the hardware in a phone like the size of the Inc. I personally think there are some things Apple gets right and there is a reason the iPhone is the same size as the Inc. I think the iPhone5 will also be the same size. It's to bad everybody else is going bigger. It's like they are just forcing it down our throats.
