Well, was gonna say very cool with the MHL charging the phone through the usb but with having to have the TV MHL capable, that sucks. Just bought our new TV a month ago so I won't be able to take advantage of this feature. I just hope they'll have chargers or cable adapters whatever that will allow you to plug it in to the outlet AND HDMI so you can both charge and watch at the same time...otherwise this isn't a good deal for those who want to use HDMI out....

There are plenty of these ranging in price from $10-30.

The one I linked to has a micro USB port on the side for charging.

No HDMI Port? What up with that?

The charging port in the side pic has the same odd shape as on the original Incredible. That port allowed for a tv-out cable (with composite video/audio). Other HTC devices with MHL (EVO3D, Sensation, Flyer) have a standard micro-usb port on them. The thing is, the original Incredible is the only other phone I have seen with that modified micro usb port.

The only explanation for having that modified micro usb port on their if it is MHL equipped is this. Maybe they chose that port so you have the option of using the Inc1's tv-out cable with composite a/v for older tvs, or use a newer tv-out cable with the modifed micro usb connector to an HDMI for use on hdtvs. Just a thought.

While I've gotten DLNA to work on my Inc2 (with a Samsung BR player), I doubt it's anwhere as good as HDMI. I got a slightly better picture with DLNA than I did with my Inc1's tv-out cable. Basically it looks like a standard definition picture using DLNA.

Come on Oct 13 or 20th , been checking the forum morning and night hoping to hear some good news.

This is so funny, because I can't believe I'm sucked in again. Did this with my DINC, which got back ordered for months, then again with the delays with the TB and now here I am again. We are all glutton for punishment, I love it, haha. Here's to waiting for this beast, folks. At least we are in it together. :)

sorry, am slightly confused by this also. Could you explain the scenario in detail? Will it charge my phone while it is plugged into the tv?

In the post I had earlier I mentioned that it has the same modified mcro usb port as the origianl Incredible. On the tv-out cable for that phone, on the side of the connector that plugs into the phone, there is a standard micro usb port so you could charge the phone while showing content on an external display.

Again I think that we might be able to use the Inc1's tv-out cable as well, which could come in handy if your find yourself in a hotel room with an older tv with RCA inputs.

Has Beats been confirmed? Is it just the earphones that will sound great or will the speaker on the phone be as good? I like a loud clear phone.

Beats was confirmed in the ROM leak both in the coding, and with the Beats logo in the boot animation and one of the wallpapers. I haven't seen anything about the external speaker being different; if it's like the Sensation XE, I think that Beats only works with the headphones, and when enabled, the software processes the audio differently. At least that's the way I understand it.

Saw pics of this thing over at engaget and now am back to the forums for the first time in months. I'm ready for a DINC replacement...

As a side note I really hope the battery in this is worthy of being in a phone of such specs. It seems that to some extent HTC is cutting functionality for aesthetics lately.

Hey, Sneaky...or Pensboozeanger. ;)
Good to see you again. I've noticed you playing a little NHL...I've been stinking up that game online but spending most of my time here. Giving the wife my thunderbolt to replace the Dinc I gave her so now I'm all about this phone. It should be pretty solid. Good to see you on here again.

Thank you, sir. It's good to be back. I'm ready for hockey season to start now, I haven't had nearly enough rage on twitter lately, ha!

I try to avoid the forum to keep myself from buying phones every 3 months haha. I love the HTC devices, hoping this one comes soon. I should have an upgrade available in the next month or two.

Good to talk to you.

If anyone is thinking of holding out for the Prime, here's news today that might change your mind. To some though, you will likely already be sold on the Prime regardless. However, after seeing the pentile screen on the Bionic (and I had been waiting months for that phone), I decided to hold off a little longer for the Vigor since it has a Sony Super LCD screen.

We'll have to wait and see. Many have said that at HD resolutions the negatives of PenTile go away. Only time will tell I guess.
