Wanted: 10in for sheet music. Tips?

If you are looking For an Android app to display chord charts, do transposition, play media files, create multiple set lists with independant transposition and more have a look at chordpad for Android. It's available on the market.

I had been looking for an app too, and when I couldn't find one, decided to write my own. It's been three months in the making, and is now doing what I want it to.

I may be able to add a link to display pdf/text/image option if there is interest.

I'm sorry to come in sounding like an ad. but it's been a passion for a while, and sounds like its may suit some of you.

Thanks for sharing your app. Does it do lyrics? Right now I have about 100 text files of lyrics and chords and I need both to show up.

Hi,

At the moment you can store the lyrics on a notes page but they are not shown at the same time as the chords, I'm just starting to write an interface that will do that. It will need some user interaction to set up the song which will be this bar starts here this chord goes there etc, all by touch, and will produce a typical chord/lyric sheet.

The chords will then be transposable.

Lot of good info here! Thanks!

I am just starting to look into moving my sheet music library over to tablet and wanted to ask if you guys (or gals) think the 10" tablet screen is sufficient. Can it be easily seen/read?
I've been looking at the viewsonic gtab in particular and while it's getting great reviews, one of the complaints is the viewing angle. Has anyone noticed an issue with this?

For those that come looking at this thread for information, I just wanted to let everyone know that I released a sheet music reader app called MobileSheets. It lets you import PDF or image files (obtained from scanning, using the tablet camera, or downloaded files off the internet), and create songs from them that are categorized by album, artist, and genre. You can also create setlists to load multiple songs at once. It comes with a built-in metronome, media playback, and the ability to create bookmarks and link points to easily navigate through songs and deal with repeats. I will be releasing an update shortly to add wireless bluetooth pedal support for pedals like the Cicada, and annotations/chord lookup after that. Can you clear something up for me, please? Is there some minimum operating system version requirement? It says "MobileSheets is now compatible with 7" and 10" tablets running 2.3 or greater". Does that mean it won't work on less? I don't even know if that's a real issue, as I haven't purchased a tablet yet, but wondering if I need to be careful what I buy.

Answering myself, I ended up buying a Motorola Xoom, which has Honeycomb 3.2 on it, so no version problems. Mobilesheets is a superb app running on this tablet. As soon as the backup update comes out I will put ALL my music into it.
