default account on android market app?

I have 3 accounts sync-ed on my nexus s. For some reason, the android market app always defaults to one particular account but unfortunately not the one I want.

is there a way to change this default? thanks
Yes, in the Market app there are settings you can change, one of them is the account you wish to use.

By default, the Market app uses the first account that was setup on the device - that's your primary account. The device will also default to the first account for all syncing on the device. That's why it's best to setup your device with the account you wish to use for Google services (like the Market) first, then add additional accounts after.

incorrect.

We use the settings but it changes itself without user intervention.

I looked on the net some more and it's a bug in the new market app.

If you go to the market app from app drawer it will respect the default that is selected. (initially that first account on the device).

But if you respond to a notification for market updates then it seemingly randomly goes to any old account. Some speculate it's alpha (that fits for me), others speculate it's the last account that had activity like email, talk, calendar, etc., others think it's strictly random.

To me it always defaults to my wifes account (which I only sync to borrow her contacts as she is the 'master phonebook'). She does gmail way often than my gmail but i'm not sycing here emails so there would be no activity on the device. But for me she is alphabetically in front of me. So thats my guess.

anyway work around is do NOT respond to notifications but only hit it through the app drawer until google fixes the bug.

Perhaps that setting doesn't stick like you say...I've never actually used it.

I have several email accounts that sync with Gmail and my account always defaults to my initial primary account. There is no randomness here. I believe it will use the first account that was configured, not alphabetical since my primary is third in the list of five accounts. And I often respond to notifications but it always uses my primary.

As above MY email is my primary account- the one i set up first on my phone. it does not always default to my account everytime i do something . It frequently defaults to my wife's account. I switch it back. Something triggers it to flip back.

It happened to me earlier today- I got an error from an app that it couldn't verify my license- so i go to the market and sure enough the darn thing is on my wifes account and not mine again.

so myself and the OP arent imagining it.

Yes, that works. However, if you do not want any email from the primary account to be synced with the secondary device, i.e say your wife is using the secondary device but you want to access and purchase apps for this device through your primary market account, then simply turn syncing for the primary account off (Settings>Accounts & sync) - everything will still work as it should on the secondary. I never had to switch accounts, either in market or email.
