About a week ago my wife and I upgraded to the Atrix phones. First time experience w/an Android based phone and we're both thrilled. Well, lurking here paid off. I saw that the Atrix 2 came out on the boards here and we went back to the AT&T store hoping to trade in my Atrix for the "A2" for no extra money. Well, the A2 phones were going for $49 not the $99 I thought they were. So, we actually got some cash back when trading in our Atrix phones that were within the 30 day trial period. This was a good deal IMO.
Other than the obvious changes, screen size, camera differences, memory etc. that's already been noted these are some initial impressions. The back on the A2 has a more rubbery feel w/texture vs the Atrix's smooth back. I think I'll be less likely to drop the A2. I didn't care for the "at&t" logo jammed in on the front of the phone on the A2 from pics I saw, but, the ones we got aren't branded which is a good thing I think. Probably trivial to some but I'm pleased the logo is not there. The phone has a slightly more modern look to it and the OS is smooth and more polished IMO. I was hesitant to even check on the upgrade looking at the specs alone and the pics I saw online. But, hands on look in the store made the difference for me anyway.
I was really impressed with the Atrix for the short time I had it. I think I'll like the new phone (A2) a little more. Would I pay $ for the difference, I don't think so. But, I actually walked away w/a few bucks so an easy decision for me.....
BTW, I enjoy the forum. A lot of good info for a newb to the Android phones.
