Hi everyone, once again I take my chances here, this being the most friendly forum I have run into so far! So I hope someone can enlighten me - all small bits of information are appreciated.
I was so unpleased with the Gingerbread OTA this summer, so I decided to go for a root-and-rom ride when I had built up the courage. I got the thing rooted fine, partitioned my card to save 512 mb for apps and installed Miui.
What I noticed what that on the regular US version of Miui it says my kernel name is something about apps2SD. I then tried installing the ROM from HTCFanboys, another Miui mod. Now it said the kernel was named something about apps2SDext.
My guess, and I hope you can fill me in, is that only the fanboy ROM is able to support storing apps in my 512 MB....?
Also, the fanboy ROM screwed up all apps using internet after two days of use (happened each time I flashed it) so I am back on the "official" US version.
I guess the question is, is there any way I can flash a kernel that supports apps2SDext? Or is this somewhat flaky and should be avoided?
