Google Buzz on the Hero???

Well Google wave was an epic fail, guess this is their new project
So Wave was an epic fail? You mean with the studies coming out about how artists, businesses, musicians, and so on are using it? You mean how there is active development and more users joining? Buzz was already in the works when they released Wave and you can bet it will tie into Wave sooner rather than later.

Awwww, I'm pretty excited too when I read about Buzz and what it is capable of. The entire Social Networking thing is new to me and I will be honest it looks real promising. Instead of being so negative, I think it would serve better to just look at all the app's which come with the 2.x upgrade as GRAVY on our toast.

:)

All good things come to us who wait, hahaha... ;)

Buzz available for android 1.5 and 1.6 now.

Hmmm... ?

From the Google/Buzz mobile site...

buzz.google.com requires
Android 2.0+
iPhone 3.0+

Older OS versions may be able to access
some features, but are not officially
supported.

Lol, I just wanted to point that out before everyone goes and takes the time to get their phone, goto Google and then see this message and decide they won't use unsupported software. Just thought some might like to know beforehand... :)

Works fine for me, unless I'm missing something. The big thing they've done is made it work with Gears instead of HTML 5.

 Google wave isnt even out of beta... haha. Fail before it's even released?

Wave will be a big part of Buzz eventually, Wave is the future... just ahead of it's time.

anyways... Sprint needs to roll out 2.1 or I'm done with them, Sprint's Samsung moment has a date now, and I think the Hero outsold that phone by a good amount.

Tweet @Sprintcare and @Sprint for a confirmation on a date for the Hero, they promised and best fulfill it.

It also doesn't have Sense, which requires more testing, so be patient. As for what they've promised, they've only promised that it's coming and that they're targeting 1H 2010.

I downgraded/crossed over(depending on viewpoint) from the iphone last week and I'm fairly content, my wallet is much happier too. The Hero does take a good amount of tweaking vs iphone, though the relief at escaping the nanny state of Apple is comforting.
It was 7 months into 3Gs with the bluetooth signal intentionally weak by apple to save battery life without an option or boost to it. I realize a lot of people use these as mobile toys but Apple didn't seem to consider those that actually use them for phones. Like the constant dropped calls, their solution was turn off 3G, which did work at the cost of slow data, loss of simultaneous voice & data, and the little thing that if you were accessing data on the edge network it automatically sent all calls to voicemail. So it was a choice of dropped calls or calls to VM. Not to mention that both the 2g and 3gs crashed and required full restore and computer reboots at every software upgrade.
The killer was when they were about to charge me 1800 bucks for international data roaming while I was in montana, and the "fix" was they put a international data package on, then credited me for the cost of it. Then kept charging me for the data for 5 months after at 60 bucks a month.

No phone is perfect, no network is perfect. Enjoy your life, enjoy every day as if it was your last. Phone rings, I talk, I'm happy. The rest is just gravy.

this is a bit of an aside to the original point of the post and please pardon the highjack, but I have to say, when I learned that Google Buzz wasn't really on speaking terms with my Hero, I was kinda like, "Oh well, que sera, sera." It's not as svelte as twitter and lacks the functionality of facebook, falling in a bit of a lurch in terms of usefulness.

I'm somewhat begrudgingly trying it out, but it remains the red-headed stepchild of my social networking family, and they'll need to make some dramatic changes before that changes. I'm already getting spammed on it, too. Grrrr.
