***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

It is possible that Verizon may release some sort of a statement tomorrow because of the Best Buy ads.

Anything is possible with them, but it's only likely if that's what they originally planned on doing. I think there is one man with a wall sized calendar that has these dates planned and he crosses them off one by one. And sings 'dance my little puppets, dance. I'm almost done pulling your strings but you will dance till I let them go'

After being redirected from main desk to mobile, then put on hold for 10 minutes, then being redirected back to the main desk, then being redirected back to mobile, at which point I was put on hold for another 5 minutes and then redirected to a completely different rep after inquiring about the Nexus, I FINALLY got a guy to tell me something...
...he said "projected launch date is December 8th--errr, 18th"
(he said it was based on rumors though so he was likely wrong)

Did you expect something different?

Also, I would put ZERO confidence in anything Best Buy reps tell us. They don't know.

Corporate store reps don't even know until the day before or even the day of, when they get a bunch of shipments in that they weren't expecting.

It could be that many of them are saying "This week" because they read the blogs or got work emails with the bogus, mistaken circular and are just assuming.

But honestly, we know more than they do.

Figures the one night I go shut eye early the "goods " get posted! Whether it means anything or not, it's something. ;)

And zedster thanks. Those pictures just make me go "ahhhh" what a hot phone and even more reason to hold steady for it. By far the best looking phone ever produced in my little beady eyes!

Oh yeah forgot GO NIGHT CREW! :)

Sounds like a lack of sound, focused, competent leadership to me.

As much as a "Hey our phones broke, don't worry! We're fixing it and it will be out soon!" statement might mollify the masses here and in the Android tech community it would be a disaster for the phone.

For the masses (still the majority of the people who are going to buy this phone, no matter how wide spread we might think technically savvy people are) all they would remember is that Verizon said it was broken or had bugs or problems or whatever term they used. Also remember in general these masses are clueless to "suggested delays" or "bugs" or anything else we might infer at the moment.

"Hey how about this Galaxy Nexus it looks cool?" ... "No way man, Verizon said that thing was busted a week ago, how could they possibly fix it that fast?"... /repeat

I don't know if calling will do it, I've gotten mixed responses from reps over the phone. The store absolutely WILL upgrade you early, though. Yes, I know, it means dealing with sales reps but if you want it sooner, you gotta do what ya gotta do.

I managed to get VZW to let me upgrade a whole 4 months early after spending an hour or so on the phone with them... Nothing to lose.
