How exactly is Google Wallet the cause for delay? It's not on the GSM Galaxy Nexus, it's currently only on the Nexus S 4G Officially, Verizon's ISIS mobile wallet stuff hasn't been released and isn't going to be rolled out significantly until by the end of 2012 it just seems odd that it's the cause of the delay when ISIS isn't even ready yet.

ok... For whatever its worth:

Yesterday a local reseller was nice enough to let me play with one of the 2 GNex they got in their first shipment yesterday. He has been super open about any emails they receive and such about the phone. ( went as far as to turn his computer screen my way to show my official correspondance) When I asked when it would be released.. he said honestly at this point he had no idea. I told him to call me whenever he got word...

Well today he calls me and says his regional manager emailed him this afternoon with the 15th. He said that yesterday he had heard monday... and then had heard the 16th.. but since that was just "talk" he didn't bother me... but when he heard the 15th from his higher up he felt somewhat confident about that.

When I asked when he would know for sure so I would know when to be at the store early.. he said he had put a sticky note on the device I played with ( he thought the pics I took were still on there and didn't want another customer getting it with pics on it... I erased them -guess he didn't realize that.. but good for me!) and set it aside. He told me he would let me know sooner to release how much local interest there was and if I needed to be there early or just come in when they opened.

So I'm pretty stoked that I hopefully will even get the unit I played with (we opened the box so its not a demo). I wish I has thought to take pics of the contents for everyone... I could have been a contributor!!!!... but I didn't even think about that!

So as far as the reseller regional manager goes... the date is the 15th... but as we all know that is subject to the whims of Verizon I guess. I told my guy that I would believe it when I had it in my hands... with a receipt!

Wow, was there a deleted post just now? I thanked it, refreshed and it's gone lol.

Is there a need to delete a, seemingly, well thought out opinion (I didn't even get a chance to finish reading it). What kind of forum has this become. SMH.

Are we really waiting for a phone? Has VZW promised us anything and not delivered (with respect to the SGN)? And, to those trying to buy the phone when you know Vzw isn't selling them yet, are a few more days worth risking someone's livelyhood (even if they are compliant)?

I saw the post you are referring to as well. I went to quote it and write how it was one of the rapidly increasingly rare intelligent posts in this thread and before I could it was gone. I hope a moderator didn't delete it.

Well said. I have noticed that occasionally I have to F5 for all the comments to show up. A whole lot of data to load. LOL

I am starting to think this thread may become so large it will be given Independent Nation status. Then we can steal a spaceship and begin cruising around the universe. We can pirate cocktail olives and booze from trade vessels.

Yeah. With our Nexii, nothing is unpossible....

Ok, if this infotainment is correct and it's all about Wallet/ISIS, then it's time we gave a shout out to th0r615 for ringing the dinner bell on this and being right - back on October 14, when this thread was below 9k posts.

And during that week of October, we all puzzled out how this could possibly be the cause of any sort of delays.

So - whatever is going on with Wallet/ISIS, our own fossil record says that none of this is last minute stuff, aside from the recent press sensationalizing it.

Thanks to th0r615, we knew back then what the deal was - we just didn't know that we knew.

How you like those apples? :(
I knew the GN wouldn't have Google Wallet ever since a Nexus on Verizon was just a rumor. Whether its illegal or not... sounds like how VZW used to block GPS on its phones.

Another mod did delete it, and noticing these posts, we're discussing it.

Please be patient, please don't ask me more about it at present, please trust us to work this, thanks.

Ugh, the article is right, we may never see the nexus on vzw. Time to start evaluating my options. Resound and stay with a greedy, ignorant company or sacrifice quality and LTE footprint and wait for at&t to get the.nexus. this is bad, bad news. :(

hey OTD, I'm thinking of starting my journey of Burn Notice today. Whats your opinion on the show? Whats its about?

One of the best tv series that is out right now, IMHO. I've yet to see an episode I didn't enjoy.

The whole series is basically about a burned spy name Michale Weston. While he tries to figure out who burned him and get his life back with the CIA he does side jobs helping out random people. There is always someone that needs help and there is always talk about him being burned. It is a great show and has some funny stuff too.

An answer that I want to know is, why is Verizon trying to get into the Payment/Securities industry? Are their systems secure enough? Are there enough failsafe systems in place to protect from any malicious attacks? Google Wallet software may be more secure as all they deal with is software. I'm primarily buying this phone for it's NFC technology(I could always buy another blackberry, but I've had enough of the snail like pace it takes do do anything) and optimally I would like a more secure piece of software over something that may be less secure.

Thanks, I look forward to starting it.
On a side note, I did a quick stalker search on you on the forums and found that you have quite the fan club ;). Congratulations!

Burn Notice is good. NCIS is also a favorite of mine. Law and Order SVU used to be good until Christopher Meloni aka Detective Stabler left.

Not much news for you guys but I just want to share that I finally held the phone at Costco... oh man it's nice. Coming from a D3 I wanted to see the size difference, very little difference in my opinion.

They also already had the price sign next to the RAZR. The effective dates on the sale price of $289 were from 12/7-12/13, so I think it is clear that Costco anticipated to sell the Nexus on 12/7. The salesman told me to come back on Thursday.

I'm going to 5guys today:D:D Then I'm going to look at new snowboard boots... if I fall in love and buy a new pair = pass on the Gnex and wait for my VZW contract to expire and change carriers:mad:

So? Did you buy new boots?

These are from summer 2010 surely they have changed their packaging and product line, but the one on the left in yellow was the one back then. It killed screens clarity though, but it would not smudge no matter what you did to it with your own body oil!

:eek::rolleyes:
Just what were you doing to it??

Although this is moving the price scale a bit.... Daniel Boulud makes an amazing burger and is well worth the splurge:

THE ORIGINAL db BURGER
Sirloin Burger Filled with Braised Short Ribs
Foie Gras and Black Truffle, Served on a Parmesan Bun
Pommes FritesorPommes Souffl

Verizon wants to basically become a creditor as well. They are doing it in other countries with NFC. Basically we can buy stuff using the NFC on our phones and our monthly service bill would actually now include any purchases we make. It's a nice idea because its one less bill to hassle with at that point.
