That's like a "cigar buff" saying he'll never try Cubans.

There's a reason everyone raves about them.

I'm the same way. I haven't watched Star Wars since the first day of Episode III's opening. I want to keep it fresh in case I want to watch it with someone who hasn't seen them.

My wife got me the bluray versions but I have yet to see them. I might do Episode IV on my Gnex just to see what the quality is like.
OT: Movies

I'm going to go there now...And you mentioned your sister uses one, but there is also a reason everyone raves about the i*hone too, yet 95% of the people here hate it for mostly no reason. People choose to not use them for the same reason I choose not to watch Star Wars. "Everyone else owns one" is probably the most used reason people here don't get them, or people who own them bother you. Well, people who rave about Star Wars and say they are the best thing to ever happen to the big screen bother me. Its just preference. Just because I haven't seen them and choose not to doesn't mean I have bad taste in movies or I am not a movie buff. Just because someone hasn't seen Pulp Fiction, in my eyes doesn't make them "not a movie buff".

Just called my local store to make an appointment for Thursday. Here's the conversation I had with the rep:

Me: I'd like to make an appointment on Thursday to pick up a Galaxy Nexus.

Rep: We're not taking appointments, so it's going to be first come first serve.

Me: So the Galaxy Nexus will be launching on Thursday?

Rep: Yes.

Me: In that case, would you be able to put a phone on hold for me? I'm not going to be able to be there right at store opening.

Rep: No, I can't put one on hold, but we're not going to sell out on the first day. We have a bunch of phones.

Me: If you don't mind me asking, how many would you say you have?

Rep: I'd say we have just over 200 in stock.

Me: Over 200? Holy cow.

What the frak is your avatar supposed to be?!!

OT BSG:
I definitely don't consider this a spoiler but just in case...

I've been seeing/hearing a whole lot of uses of the word "frak" in the last week or so. It makes me miss my pre-New-Caprica days before they ruined the rest of the series for me... :(

One of her coworkers husbands got really far at a RS in Arlington, VA but was stopped at the activation process. Well, we'll be able to get out to dinner in the area afterwards

RS did everything on VZW side fine for me, switched devices in the system, processed my upgrade, signed the new contract. Last step was the register. "Huh, that's funny..." D'oh! Almost made it. Good to hold it, though. I didn't do any of the setup on the phone, knowing it probably wouldn't get past that point.

Then I got to stand there for the next 25 minutes while the RS salesman got to 'un-upgrade' me. They have to manually remove the device upgrade even after cancelling the transaction.

We, too, had dinner out as a consolation prize. Would have preferred the phone.

I think the 15th has to be it otherwise VZW is gonna miss out on a lot of holiday sales on the GNEX. Releasing next week just doesn't make sense and then we are getting awfully close to the end of the year. This week has to be it IMO.

I've found the Nicaraguan and Honduran are just as good if not better, you get what you pay for and just pay extra on Cuban's because of the forbidden fruit factor

/I swear I was in Europe when I smoked them!

OT:
Just to put this out there. There is a big difference between "hasn't seen Pulp Fiction" and "refuses to see Pulp Fiction". I would say that you can be a movie buff without seeing any particular movie. I would even say you can be a movie buff with refusing to see any particular movie. However, I would say that anyone that refuses to see a movie is close minded, movie buff or not.
