Skipping class is your right as an American. I always figured I was paying, it's my decision to go.
OT re Skipping Class
Your right, maybe so. In years of college, law school, and now seminary, I have found it valuable to hear what the professor said. At minimum, that is what the professor thinks is important and what the professor is likely to expect you to know. If you have a decent professor, there is even more reason to go: a good understanding of what the class is all about. After all, that is exactly what you are paying to get. And if you are not wanting what is there, why pay in the first place?

Ok well here's my farewell post; will continue posting until the final moment I am able to before Steven closes this thread, but... here it goes:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, it looks like this is it. We've come this far and we've finally reached our destination after months and months of waiting, speculating, and discussing. Rumors flew this way and that, the occasional flame war was shot down by Steven's frequent PSAs, but nonetheless it has been an interesting ride. Now that I look back on this, I'm so honored to have participated in such a sophisticated thread with such sophisticated people. Being one of the only true technology nerds in my school, I don't really have anyone to talk to about this kind of stuff, but you guys are so understanding! Never before have I felt so connected to random people on the internet through a common interest.

So, now that all is said and done, I'd just like to thank the moderators who took part in making this thread civil (for the most part), well-rounded, and well-mannered. EarlyMon took care of most of the argument-cleaning and infractions, while Steven58 warned us to keep things under control underneath his ever-recurring lines and to "try not to kill each other" night after night. Of course, Rob and Phases made the occasional entrance (although I barely remember it) as well.

But I also need to thank those non-moderators who have played just as important of a role in keeping the thread fun and informative; to BabyBlue for her nightly avatars and cracking jokes to keep us entertained, and to others who fueled a mostly unintrusive and tangential OT discussion, thank you. To any of those who shared any sort of confirmation of information from reps, including first time posters, Han's sister, and Steven's source, thank you. This thread simply would not have been what it was if it weren't for the collaborative culmination of all these independent sources of information.

Lastly, (and this may come as a shocker to a lot of you), I think Google, Samsung, and even Verizon deserve a round of applause. I've never seen anywhere near this much hype for a phone (not even for iPhones) and it truly is a feat of engineering and software development to make such a glorious device that we've been lusting over for oh so long. Throughout the course of our journey, we've gotten upset, even downright infuriated with Verizon for botching the release of this flagship Android beast, but in the end we have to give props to them for bringing us the best smartphone on the market on the best network in the U.S. I'm sure we'll all forget about ever being mad at Verizon once we finally have the phones in our hands :D

So, all that said, I conclude this post with one universal "thanks" to all involved in the thread. It's been such a fun ride and I could never stand being away from the thread for any significant amount of time, knowing it would be buzzing away and zooming along. But now that it's all over, I'll definitely feel a void in my daily routine ;)

This is farewell, but not goodbye! I hope to continue our obsession in the sub-forum.

:) :D

Good night everyone. AND GOOD BYE EPIC THREAD!

Everyone needs a personal day now and then. Let kids be kids. Skipping one class won't make or break a semester....unless you're like me and accidentally skip a mid-term.

He let me take it anyways.

Looks like I can't get the $100 3g -> 4g upgrade :(

I just called a CSR to try and get it marked on the account (which is based in Ohio). The rep said it wasn't showing up for the account, and he wasn't sure why. He tried 2 different methods to add it to the account, but it wouldn't take. He noted on the account that the promotion exists and he's not sure why the account isn't eligible for it, but stopped short of noting that the account should be eligible :( Any suggestions?

Also, a question. So the account is based in Ohio, but I live across the country from my parents in Cali. Cheaper to stay on the family plan with grandfathered unlimited data. Regardless, my dad is going to stop in at a store tomorrow when he's out of work, renew their contract, and upgrade my line to a GN. I'm guessing they won't let him walk out of the store with an unactivated phone. I can't have this, though, because then I'll be phoneless for at least the weekend. They could ship to my work/apartment, but I don't know if they'll leave it at my apartment when I'm not there (signature required?), and my work has already lost some of my mail. My hope is that he can put the money down for the phone and have a Verizon store local to me put a phone aside. Does anybody know if Verizon could/would do such a thing?

well It's been a fun ride for the last month that I've been lurking in the shadows but alas the time has come to say not good bye but see you in the next thread be they how to root of the latest and greatest app or how to over/under-clock etc etc...

As for my previous phone I will say good riddance to these old things they searved their purpose but very happy to see them go the way of the Dodo.

Verizon stores here won't ship store to store, only from store to your home.
