Well, before this closes out for good, I just want to say it was a pleasure to follow and occasionally contribute to this thread since September, or so.

I'm can't decide if I'm glad I was so obsessively following along or if it would've been better to just find out yesterday about the sale date. I'd say the former. It's great having an outlet for my interests and hang with people who share this interest. I know talking off the board about this just wasn't the same.

Anyway, it's been a pleasure and I can't wait to see what we all do with our new toys and what the development community will come up with.

Woohoo! Placed my order for delivery to my office tomorrow! Have to wait an extra day compared to some of you folks, so for today at least I'll live vicariously through y'all.

It all started when my parents FINALLY let me get a smartphone. I started with a Charge, returned it...Then a Bionic (returned it too!). I drove my family nuts but like I said if I'm gonna spend $300 on a phone I want my moneys worth!

I didn't real know about the whole world of Android until I started looking at sites like Droid-Life, AndroidCentral and Phandroid around the end of summertime. I discovered the forum over at AC, but it was lacking...

Then one day, early last month (feels like its been longer :thinking:

), I discovered this EPIC thread! First post was when we were around 20K I believe...We've come so far since then!!

It was an honor to share all the Ups and Downs (mostly Downs

) with you all. I want to name people but I could never remember everyone and I know I would leave some people out so...I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Special thanks to Steven, Early, OTD, all the other mod's and guides, that so graciously helped us along this tumultuous journey! And while it might just be a **Phone**, it is much more than that to all of us and I know you'll all agree! I kind of almost enjoyed the ride rather than the destination (maybe

)! It was a pleasure to be part of such an epic thread and I love you all!

Hey guys! Got my phone and its not even a little bit of a let down. THE THING IS AMAZING!!!!! Sales people tried to say I had to call in and get my $100 dollar rebate later, but I told them I was just going to call customer care and buy it if they didn't give it to me and "magically" they figured out how to do it

So AMPED!

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to Steven, Early and all the other mods for doing such a great job. I know I got a few posts deleted, but looking back it really was the best. You guys created an awesome environment for people to hang out and share their experiences while waiting on this awesome phone to drop. I'm going to stick around for the long haul and hope to see a lot of you guys in other forums sharing tricks and experiences. You have all been the best!

Guys, I had a less than desireable experience at the vzw corporate store. First off, they dinged me $20 for an early upgrade fee even though I had my final new every 2 coming up in only 2 weeks. I found out that is normal and needs to be credited by calling vzw on the phone. So if you find yourself in that boat, call and ask for the $20 to be credited.

Also, the CH4GE promotion is still valid for the Midwest region, whatever that encompasses, until the end of the year. I was denied this in the store, but easily got it over the phone and the rep even said the store is crazy for not actually promoting it b/c it's a way to increase business for them.

So my whole story...I got $20 credited for the early upgrade fee, $100 credited for the upgrade from 3G to 4G and they threw in another $50 loyalty credit b/c of how I got jacked around in the store which I didn't even ask for. I was very calm on the phone and did nothing but express my disappointment as a long term customer. Thought this may be worthy info for many people.

Also, I am now playing with my brand spankin new Galaxy Nexus. Life is good.

Alright, the time has finally come for my farewell post. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed being here with yall. Every day was an adventure for sure. Verizon did their best to thin us out, but its pretty clear for the most part we stayed together, and more importantly, didn’t kill each other

With that, first I want to thank everyone that I am not naming specifically. Whether you were here to just shoot the breeze, ask a question, give a tidbit of info, or even just lurking, thanks for being here, and I hope to see more of everyone as we learn to love our new phone.

To the Guides and Mods who I don’t mention, thanks for all you do. AF is a better (the best?) place and yall are the reason. Keep up the good work.

And now to the people I feel I need to mention specifically

To our sources (Especially The Source, and Cheetara) thank you so much. Verizon had every desire to keep us in the dark, but your light kept us sane, (well except when it was revealed the horrible reasoning for the delays at the end).

– you showed up late, but what you missed in time, you made up for in sheer volume of posts. I thought you were going to be #1 for a while the way you were going. Thanks for your optimism, even if you may have jinxed the 9th

The_Chief – Thanks for following through on the Chip-in for Steven idea, and organizing that amazing act. I am glad I could contribute, and it’s even awesomer

that we came through and then some. It will live on in my mind as the best moment on this thread (Yes, even better than the announcement by VZW last night).

Earlymon – As someone who loves learning new stuff, your posts were the best. You are wicked smart, and your generosity in sharing that knowledge is greatly appreciated. I’m sorry you won’t be getting your Nexus right away, because I am sure we could have learned a lot from you about it. But I am sure there is still plenty of helpful knowledge for us no matter what. Thanks for everything you have done.

BB – Wow. I think everyone can agree, your presence here was irreplaceable. The light-heartedness and fun you brought kept us from violating Steven’s nightly request. Your avatars were appreciated by all, I know. I’m glad we finally talked you into watching Star Wars, your transition to Geek is now complete. But that doesn’t change the fact that here, you are THE Sexy Nexi. It was a pleasure finishing in the post count directly under you… uh.. right behind you… uh… see what you do to us!

Han – Steven may own this thread, but you are its lifeblood. I am glad you came back, because it wouldn’t have been the same without you. Steven – Can’t believe its finally over. Your creation is finally complete, and it is beautiful. Words will never express how much your work here has meant to ALL of us. UGH yes. The one Galaxy Nexus at the Verizon I went to downtown was tucked in between the Rezound and the Samsung Charge. It was crazy. There were like 30 people waiting around to pick up their Nexus and this one demo unit everyone wanted to play with had to be hunted down.

Let's Talk Deal. Just wanted to let everyone know that I did the deal with letstalk.com. Seemed like a no brainer to me.

Price of the phone: $194.99 (with free next day shipping, getting it tomorrow on Friday) My phone was due for an upgrade so it was $269.99 for the phone less the $75 credit they are giving (code: $75VZN) for a total of $194.99

The deal with Let's Talk is a six month contract. Just can't downgrade/cancel your plan for six months which I won't be doing. If you do, you owe them $250. Also, you can keep your current plan how it is (I verified that with the sales rep because I receive a Corp discount). Awesome deal to save $105+tax on the phone. I also had the livingsocial $50 off that I will be applying to my bill, instead.

This seems like a good option for the people that will not be getting the $100 regional promo (sounds like the notation on the accounts aren't going through unless you live within that region).
