Soooo... UPS just dropped my new Rez off, great right? I un-box the phone, insert the sim and battery, power up and start going through the steps to activate annndd the phone just sits on the activation screen. I called CS and they are saying that because of the 4g outages the phone won't complete activation... frustrating to say the least. So now I have my shiny new toy that I can't even play with, and what's worse is that my OG Droid is pretty much a brick since the digitizer went to crap, and it acts like it is demon possessed. Guess I'll have to wait till morning.

I'd call Customer Service (in the morning) and register a complaint. The reason I'd call in the morning is that they tend to have some seasoned agents working and typically can do things like (credit for data services) etc. Will the phone let you do anything else right now or is it just waiting activation? I'd pull out the SIM card and see if you can view the 720p demo videos on it, dump some music into it and listen to the awesome beats setup etc. Also, if you're feeling adventurous you can view the root section and read up on doing temp roots.

Don't mention it, and the best way to finesse something out of Customer Service is to not yell at them, but to get them to understand how frustrated you were. They're trained to show "empathy" and I'm sure if you yell at them, they're not going to be as generous. I think I remember reading some post where a guy got a free battery or case during a similar incident.
