i don't consider it sad, i think we are just at a point where smart phone development is starting to hit a more realistic upgrade timeline. we have been absolutely RACING by new technology over the past few years but there is no way it can continue at this pace, if it did smartphones would be as powerful as desktops in just a few years, and that makes absolutely NO sense. we went from single core to quad cores in less then a year almost. they are just reaching the limit to what they can do and now are approaching a more realistic development rate.
now it does kinda suck because we have been spoiled during this process but at the same time it is better because our phones will last longer, apps and games will now be produced for phones that released over the last couple years, not phones that just came out a month ago and only that.
i think we are caught up to what batteries can provide in a 24 hr period and the next big jump in smart phone tech needs to be battery improvement and i think we are seeing some of that at CES. especially the RAZR MAXX. that thing is STILL CRAZY THIN yet has an insane battery inside, this is where our major advancements will be in the next few years i think.
