So I guess it isn't 1.5GHz after all?

i am actually excited about this... so far my upgrade phone unless sprint comes with something better between now and april

The back of the sprint version doesn't have that bump at the bottom. Anyone know what's the difference ?

Maybe they have a bigger battery in the Sprint version.

it's exactly the same as the vzw one according to the article.

I know i'm new but i just wanted to chime in. I was with sprint since the evo dropped in june of 2010. I live in houston and the 4g never worked right. i was barely faster than 3g. i couldn't get service at my house unless i stood by the window and held the phone at an angle. I dont care how cheap service is, u get what u pay for and i cant believe i left at@t for sprint. I was just tired of my iphone at the time. Verizon, from customer service on down has been nothing less than stellar so far. i can make a normal phone call from my home for the first time in a year and a half. The 4g lte is almost twice faster than what my home gets from comcast, and tbh, about ten times faster than wimax. Again i live in houston, one of wimax most saturated areas. like the poster above stated, in all seriousness, good luck with sprint lte, and sprint as a carrier for that matter. love my evo still even though i got the gnex, i have fond memories of the evo, but i hate damn near everything about sprint. my company discount when applied to my bill comes out only ten bucks more a month, and i dont mind giving an extra hamilton a month for real reliable service. heck i was giving ten to sprint for nothing for their 4g fee.

I have no problem with sprint. Every carrier has their issues and folks experience will be different. Some keep saying good luck with LTE for sprint, have anyone tried a Sprint LTE phone? so why so serious?

I just deleted 11 bickering posts in this thread. If Verizon is the best carrier for you then use them. If Sprint offers great service in your area, use them. This thread is about Sprint getting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, not which carrier is best or what you consider bloatware. Please keep to the topic.

Personally, I think it is great that there is another carrier getting the Nexus and will be even happier if it is just like the Verizon version physically. Sprint may offer up some nice accessories at a better price.

I was a Sprint customer when they released the EVO...actually I jumped on Sprint just to get the EVO to be honest! I moved on a while ago, but If I was a Sprint customer right now I'd be pretty happy about this news. My only gripe would be why so long to wait, meaning why the middle of 2012? But I guess June is the sweet spot for them to launch they're new 4G service, considering that's when the original EVO dropped anyway and brought Sprint a slew of new customers. And who knows how long this exclusive of Verizon's actually lasts, either way just a bigger footprint for the Nexus line which is always good news in the Android world...Vanilla or Bust is the way I feel as of late.

Are there any hints as to a release date for the Sprint GNex? Everything I've found is pretty non-specific. I know they plan on building up their LTE during the first half of 2012, and I know they want to release the first batch of LTE phones prior to flipping the switch, but that's a pretty vague timeframe.

I like the GNex, but if they don't get it until June, I'm sure there will be something more competitive available.

Not if CES is showing off the best and the brightest for the year. I know that not everything makes it to CES, but the showing this year is pretty sad so far.

I would say you most likely won't see the Nexus on Sprint until at the earliest the halfway mark for 2012. Sprint has been saying all along they plan to push out LTE by the half way point....so this looks to be pretty on point with a Nexus release being June of 2012 which is in fact the halfway point.

They did the same thing with the EVO a few years back when they were getting ready to flip the switch on Wimax. However , hopefully they release the Nexus with a lot of they're major cities having LTE unlike how they handled the EVO release.

I agree....We are reaching the top of the glass for the time being. And I think as you said, its time to pay attention to other things....As,,,

Battery life- I'm tired of reaching for a charger every 6/8 hours...enough already!
If Moto can do it with the Maxx and keep it that thin, everyone can.

Camera- its time for the megapixel wars to end,,,Just give me a quality lens like Nokia has been doing for years. I'm glad Nokia is on the way back up, hopefully it'll wake Moto and others up to stop BS'ing and start giving us some real quality shooters on our expensive phones.

Less phones- Enough is enough already! Phone after phone, after phone. Its totally out of control with how many devices we've see running Android over the last year and a half.. especially from Moto! I'd like to see less models, with better specs spaced out within say 6 months. Its mainly the reason why I've taken to the Nexus platform. I'm basically guaranteed to be future proof for at least a year before a new model hits. As well as get updates directly from Google in a timely fashion.

I'm pretty content with where the market is going and what device (Nexus) I'm using, at this moment its the happiest I've been with a device in some time. One thing I am looking forward to is the Sony Smart Watch! That thing looks Super Cool...
