I should clarify a few points before proceeding.
- I do not have the keyboard dock
- I purchased my unit on dec 23, serial starts with: BCOKA
- My GPS does not work, I dont mind .. i didnt even know it had GPS
- My WiFi signal is weak, as others report, but it hasnt effected performance so far
- I dont know if BT works, or interferes with wifi .. i dont use BT. Let me know how to test this and i will

Ill conclude this immediately, to save you all from reading my unnecesarily long post lol. I love my prime. Id hope for a fix to increase the wifi reception, but it hasnt effected me much in real-world use, so im not going crazy over it.

Browser
I really dont like having to "test" all different browsers to see which, if any, will perform best. Ill piggy back that comment with: I really LOVE having the ABILITY to test different browsers ... i.e have the option, i.e unlike iOS. That being said, i think if the single only thing you ever do on a tablet is use the browser ... go buy an ipad. The browser performance, in my opinion, is far superior. It feels more fluid, more responsive, less crashes/hangups, etc. However, since different options are luckily available, I went through several browsers and settled on "Boat Browser". It has performed the best for me and i am happy with this! YMMV.

FC's, Stutters, Freazings, etc.
This is EXTREMELY RARE. I do sometimes run an app that all of a sudden freaks out and i have to close it, or it just FC's itself. Most recently I am having an issue with Gmail, but im confident this will be addressed. In all honesty i think whats happening is a bit of a mental game! I know i bought a bleeding edge piece of gadgetry, i know it has been under the microscope for weeks now, so any little thing that happens im like "omgz call Asus, its a defect!!!". When in reality, its no big deal lol. In most cases just restart the app, or restart the tablet, in worst case just wait few weeks for the app to be updated for ICS compatibility.

Typing on the TF201
I find it slightly more awkward to type on this due to the 10+ inch size. I have some big hands, and i still find it awkward! However i am getting used to it, and Thumb Keyboard is a LIFE SAVER!! I do WAYYYYY more typing on this thanks to that one app.

Replacing my laptop
Not quite! Admittedly i dont have the keyboard dock so its not fair for me to even comment, however i still need my laptop for World Of Warcraft! ha! I also really need to have a hard drive, with a file structure ... i maintain a LOT of images of my family and daughter specifically, and take pride in the orginization on my drive. I cannot give that up, and dont feel confident i can migrate this to my TF201 just yet. I guess its a personal preference here .. the real question might be "are you ready to be 100% in the cloud?" the answer for me, right now, is no.

Apps
There arent 11tybillion apps for the Android Tablets just yet, but I use a lot of apps and I have never said to myself "crap, this is not available on android!" a single time. Well admittedly, i said that the other day about a game my friend was bragging about on his iphone called Tomb Runner, or something. But for the most part I have found anything i have looked for! Go to the app market, then "staff picks for tablets" will give you a good start.

Accessories
This is one thing that really had me wishing i wanted an iPad, it has a TON of accessories! Anything you can think of .. and a few things you wouldnt want to think of (a fleshlight case, wtf?). For my TF201, i bought a leather folio case (MiniSuit) and thats it. I also bought a clear screen protector but couldnt get it on.

Power Plug
This is just annoying to me, so it gets its own spot on my review. Why the hell did they choose to use a proprietary plug? I guess they had their reasons, but frankly i dont care lol. Just let me use the same cable im using for the rest of my android devices. Now every day i head to work and I have to carry my lunch, my tablet, and my power cord in case i need juice? I guess ill eventually buy a second cord, but again ... whyyyyyyy???

WiFi Reception
Ill give this its own section, since this is the single most talked about topic when it comes to this tablet. I have had NO issues connecting, or using wifi. No issues with it being slow, or anything like that. So whats all the fuss? Ill admit i have opened "wifi analyzer" and when on top of my router it has crazy strength. When walking more than 12ft away from router the signal TANKS. This is rumored to be something to do with the aluminum back, or possibly faulty antenna connections, or something. Ill repeat ... yes my signal suffers when walking away from router (more so than any other device) but even 30ft away and many walls in between (my typical work spot) I do not notice any of my apps or surfing suffering at all.
In this case "Ignorance Is Bliss" ... if you never download Wifi Analyzer, you'll never complain about this, in my opinion.
HOWEVER ... my tests, and most i read, are from someone sitting at work or home. Those that are effected worse would be campus dwellers, or starbucks surfers ... anywhere that has really weak signal to begin with. According to that group even if your TF201 is able to connect, the speed is not usable. Speedtest wont even run, said a few people. But thats not me, so im not worried about it.

I think ultimately id LIKE to send it back to Asus once they streamline the process of repairing the wifi reception. Also I see they have already have new S/N batches, so i would definitely want the newest/best hardware available for what i spent. My only fear right now is that everything else on this unit is perfect, id hate to open a can of worms!

In a month or so when the iPad3 comes out ill be buying that as well, sick of my daughter and wife touching my Prime hehe ... so ill be able to do some serious comparisons. But as of right now i dont regret my decision at all, not a single bit!

Id love any feedback or questions!

I haven't had an issue with the stock browser. Although I've tried others, I usually end up deleting those and going back to the stock browser.

I've found instead of swyping on the Prime's screen, I touch the sides of the screen to change screens. This has pretty much eliminated all stutters when scrolling from screen to screen. +1 to apps getting ICS compatibility. It may take some time for app developers to update their apps to ICS.

I like A.I. keyboard. It's nice being able to use my thumbs to type instead of having a full screen keyboard.

No comment, do not own a laptop

Good place to look, I frequent that section often

For my TF201, i bought a leather folio case (MiniSuit) and thats it. I also bought a clear screen protector but couldnt get it on.

I plan on buying the keyboard at some point. My uses Google docs on a regular basis and it's cumbersome to type with the virtual keyboard.

Power Plug
This is just annoying to me, so it gets its own spot on my review. Why the hell did they choose to use a proprietary plug? I guess they had their reasons, but frankly i dont care lol. The Prime has been great for battery life for us:)

Haven't had too many issues with my wifi. Even connecting to my Evo hasn't been a problem;)

In this case "Ignorance Is Bliss" ... if you never download Wifi Analyzer, you'll never complain about this, in my opinion.

Pretty much what I would have written. I use Boat Browser only and really like it a lot. It performs better than all the others I tried (and I too like the fact that I have a choice).
Temple Run is coming to Android soon. I've noticed that if a developer makes an app for the iPad/iPhone and it becomes popular they eventually port it over the Android.
I really want a dock but am waiting for the bugs to be worked out and better availability. I don't think this is a laptop replacement for certain things that I do like video editing but it has replaced my laptop for most day-to-day tasks like surfing the net. I am discovering new and exciting things to do with the Prime every day. Yesterday at work I used Mycloud to display my Win7 laptop on it at work. It was really cool but today it seems to have trouble connecting. I attribute that to the crappy WiFi where I work because at home it never has that problem. Pretty cool to be able to sit on the couch and look a photos on my laptop on the Prime instead of getting up and going to the laptop.

I don't seem to have the WiFi issue, I've connected out in my detached garage when my router is at least 75 feet away. Note that it only showed 1 to 2 bars but it never dropped off completely.
IDGAS about GPS - nuff said on that subject.
I use BT for my BT GPS receiver (why IDGAS about the GPS issue) and also my Gamestop controller and have not had and issues with either or loss of WiFi signal or BT signal when both are active.

This thing is amazing IMO. Glad I bought it.

Excellent review. My biggest issue with it is ANY browser...none have performed flawlessly. I base a lot of that on Facebook usability. I have tried the full site and the m. site and both have issues. The actual app works okay but then you limit the usability of Facebook altogether. I have to temper this with the fact that I had an iPad and it had the exact same issues. When clicking on "comments" it would take awhile to load and sometimes not at all. Every single browser I have tried has done this. Works great on my phone and desktop so I have no clue. The iPad performed flawlessly other than that. I have had issues all over the place with every browser I have tried....hangups...unresponsiveness....you name it.

Thanks for the review. I got mine last Sat. and have the same serial #. My wifi experience is the same as yours. I started using Boat yesterday because the stock browser doesn't display text properly. I have not had any problems with crashing, freezing, or force close. I bought Thumb Keyboard when it first came out, but never liked it for my phone. It is the perfect keyboard for a tablet. I knew this wouldn't replace my laptop because of photo editing and printing. My laptop will see much less use. Apps haven't been a problem. Widgets are a matter of finding those that work on a tablet an ICS. I still working on it. My kids got the original Transformer with keyboard and case for Christmas. They don't use the case or keyboard so figured I wouldn't either. Yes the 40 pin plug kind of sucks. If they used a micro usb I would still have to carry the little thing that plugs into the wall because it requires a higher voltage to charge. My wifi experience is the same as yours. My router is in the middle of the house, I can't be far from the router and still be in the house.
The sound is good when holding the tablet, but not strong enough if you set it down and move away from it. I like to watch Cnet while making supper, sometimes I have trouble hearing it. My GPS does not work either. I knew this going in, but have to say it is still a let down. I had hoped the camera would be as good as a point and shoot. Auto white balance and noise levels are unacceptable in low light. In daylight it is ok.
I use the stock mail program to connect with my Yahoo mail. It works well, as good as on a pc. I am mostly satisfied with the hardware. I consider the software a work in progress and have few complaints about it overall.

This review was the first reference I've seen to Boat Browser. Since reading it, I've seen several references to it, and all favorable. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to have to give Boat a download tonight when I'm on PrimeTime. :)

I was very hesitant for some reason, but once i tried it i knew i would use it as my daily browser.

glad i helped!

Just to add... if you do decide to get the dock (which I highly recommend btw!), it should really help to extend your battery life issue.

The dock acts as a little portable battery of sorts. When you dock the tablet, it will transfer power from the dock to the tablet generally until the dock is emptied. The extra few hours of battery life is great. :)

Also, the dock for me has really "transformed" the experience of this tablet for me (har har). I don't really use it "that" much... but I love the versatility and choice of it.

Just my thoughts... and thanks for sharing your review. :)

I've got to agree with you about the dock. I would have got this tablet regardless of the dock, but since I finally was able to get the dock it really does make this a complete device. And I never worry about battery now.

rsarno,

do you use the thumb keygoard in split or full? i like full keyboards as i use my prime in class to take notes and im having difficulty finding a good keyobard that has good auto correct and able to keep with my typing. what i mean is when i type good it most of the time catches only one o and comes out god.

For when you're typing on the screen, have you tried switching to the built-in Android keyboard, as opposed to the one by Asus which is the default? I switched to the Android one long ago, because it wasn't laggy like the Asus one. I haven't switched back because I'm happy with the performance of the Android keyboard.
