I received an email saying "Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We are inviting owners of the Motorola Bionic on Verizon to participate in an early preview of a new software release, and provide feedback. "

The last time i got this email was for the 893 update, but i had been on the leaked version for a week or so at that point.

I assume this is for 902 or something maybe even newer and I am still on the leaked 893 since I never did anything to go back and instal the official update. I am not rooted or anything, do I need to go backwards and reset my phone or will i get the update with no problem? I am asking bc of the question asked in the survey linked in the email saying that I would have to go back if rooted or tampered with.

thanks

thenino,

I got the .893 OTA, here is what I have, if it matches what you have, you probably don't have to do anything.

System Version
5.5.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US

Baseband version
CDMA_N_03.1C.57R ltedc_u_05.15.01

Webtop version
WT-1.3.0-108_DBN-21

Kernel version
2.6.35.7-h68606e6
vwm736@il93lnxdroid43 #1

Build number 5.5.1_84_DBN-62

Another indicator is if you check for updates you should get "Your device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time."

If you get something other than that, it may indicate a problem.

I hope this was of some use to you.

The email mentions only 1000 will be chosen from qualifying members. I found a link to the actual survey but since they ask for the information not to be shared I don't want to post it. Google is your friend if you want to look at it. It's useless anyway unless it was actually sent to you because the survey verifies your MEID in the process.

I see people speculating it could be anything from 902 for the Bionic, or Android version 2.3.6 which is apparently a newer update also coming to the RAZR, or maybe ICS (doubt that).

Once they send out this update will anybody with the proper skills be able to pull the files and distribute to the rest of us or is that impossible to do?

You may fine the Bionic Official Releases section of ... http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-bionic/438060-bionic-reference-terms-links.html#post3398984 ... to be useful.

the only difference is mine sayy 5.7.893 instead of 5.5 for the system version, which is bc of the leaked 893. I remember seeing a thread a few weeks back saying you could go back to 5.5 from 5.7 im just not sure if it'll be nessessary, i dont want to wipe my phone and have to redo all my settings and all that if i dont have to, including saved progress in games and such
