Help Anything later than 4.0.2 via OTA for VZW?

You realize the GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus (the one Google has direct control over) is still on 4.0.2 too right? The Verizon version actually got 4.0.2 first and may even get 4.0.4 first.

I don't know what you thought fast updates were, but I don't think anyone expected the Nexus to get a new version of software every 2 weeks. Give them time, jeez. The only Nexii (Nexuses?) that have a newer version than 4.0.2 are the rooted and ROMed ones.

You're missing the point. There's no reason why everyone shouldn't have the updates when they already exist, especially the radio. If the updates are ready for those that are rooted, then they should be released for those that are not. Google has them, we don't.

Sorry, these updates seem to be taking just as long as any other phone.

just to balance this post with my (different) experience:

i rooted my gnex just so i could get the 4.0.3 radios. they improved handoff a bit i guess, but not much improvement in reception or anything. 4.0.4 radios felt like an even more incremental update. basically guys, don't get your hopes up. acutally i'm not even sure what it means to say the radios are "fast and smooth."

can't comment on battery drain, though i've read that android OS has been toned down from 20% to 5%, but i've also read that the 20% was just a reporting error in google code and so if the reporting error got fixed, nothing really changed with regard to the battery drain itself.

Since many of us believe the radio issues are hardware related, I'm not the least bit surprised by your observations on reception with the new radio.

So after over a week tunning the 4.0.4 stock rom, I have to imagine we will be seeing this soon. I have completely stopped having random reboots, after they were getting more and more frequent on 4.0.2 (I was up to one a day). Signal strength is better. It is rock solid.

Thanks Antimony, that's good to hear. Looking forward to getting mine OTA.

I'm always astounded by the range of experiences. Tolerance certainly can't be that broad, but maybe it is.

I've never once had a unintended reboot, don't have signal issues, and my battery lasts 20+ hours. Unlocked and rooted since the beginning, but have only ever run the stock ROM (never flashed it). Stock launcher, etc.

I'm curious as to why some have miserable experiences while others seem fine. 4.0.4 would be nice to see soon.

I am astounded by the range of experiences as well. I'm stock, unrooted, unflashed, etc., and I don't have signal quality issues or reboot problems. My only major problem is with the one-way audio issue that I hope will be fixed in an upcoming patch. My battery life isn't quite that good, but I do get a full day out it with heavy use. I can get a day and a half with light use but it definitely needs to be charged near the end of the day. I have a fresh spare ready to go, just in case. :)

I also had pretty good luck, the first month I had it, no reboots, but then one, 10 days later another, then 4 days later, then 2 on consecutive days. This behavior makes me wonder if it is a memory or cache issue. People who pile the apps in see the problem sooner, while people who like to keep their app level low, or reflash a lot, don't see it...

I found my problem to be Pandora. Uninstalled it and no reboots since.
