New .14 update is out

Just installed the update...
So far I am noticing that things are running smoother throughout the entire system. The stock browser has been pretty lagy on my end in the past. After this update it seems to be pretty smooth. I had issues after the last update with my battery draining while the unit was idle. I will post up if I see that being any better. I used to be able to charge to 100%, and let sit idle with maybe 1% drain after hours. Last night it charge, I took it off the charger before sleeping. When I turned it on, it had drained 9%.
Anyway, will post up any changes I see...

I didn't have the battery drain issue after .13 but I have experienced a half dozen unexpected shutdowns that I never had before. I suspect it was caused by the CPU clock speed changes .13 did because a couple of the shutdowns were when I was changing performance modes. I am holding off on .14 to see what crops up with this update.

I updated after seeing that it was a kernel update, but that's just me. Maybe it's using a different governor to allow the lower clock speeds

Did that and it is still toast. Just keeps throwing the error message and rebooting. I don't think I can keep it running long enough to download a kernel image to return to the previous kernel.

That sucks! I updated last night and didn't really know that it was a new update. I just checked under About Phone for the heck of it. Wonder if there is an official change log somewhere...though those are usually very vague.

Unfortunately, there's nothing much they can do in software to make up for not receiving a good Wifi or GPS signal. You can't create data that just isn't there.

The last update, .13, had firmware updates that did in fact affect WiFi performance. My speeds increased at home from around 17-18 mbs to around 22 mbs consistently now. Software may not help, but firmware does! :)
